  • Patent number: 5088394
Abstract: A binding device is provided for placing a flexible bond (F) around an article to be bound. The binding device includes guide members (10, 11) for bringing two opposed end lengths of the flexible bond to cross over each other, and a head (32) placed at the rear of the guide members for twisting the end lengths. The head includes a gripper (32a) mounted on the end of a rotary body (33). A threaded portion (41) of the body (33) of the twisting head (32) is threadedly engaged in a nut (42) integral with the frame. A coupling member (44) surrounds a portion of the body (33) such that the body (33) is slidingly mounted in the coupling member (44). Rotation of the coupling member achieves the rotational driving of the body of the twisting head and simultaneously permits a continuous axially advancement of the body of the twisting head due to the threaded engagement of the body with the nut.

  • Patent number: 5042414
Abstract: The device according to the invention comprises an anchor, a chain connecting the anchor to a craft and a heavy stabilizing piece which, when the anchor is on the sea-bed, is fast with the chain in an immersed zone of the chain. The stabilizing piece consists of an assembly composed of two masses of the same triangular shape, connected together at one apex of the triangle by the pin of a pulley, allowing the piece to slide on the chain. This stabilizing piece is maintained fast with the chain above the sea-bed, thanks to a rope of which one end is fixed to the piece by a support and of which the other end is fixed to the craft. The invention is more particularly applicable in the domain of craft of low tonnage.

  • Patent number: 5019110
Abstract: Whereas in known needle rings the needles are of circular cross-section, the cross-section of the needles (1) the present needle ring (2) is equipped with is either oval or rectangular with flattened ends, or intermediate between these two shapes. The shorter dimension (1a) of the needle cross-section is to be arranged parallel to the axis of the ring. The needles (1) may be positioned perpendicularly in the ring or form an angle .alpha. up to 30.degree. with the radius (2b), while the angle .beta. at the tip should lie between 15.degree. and 45.degree.. The needles sit in round holes (3) the diameter of which is less than the width (1b) of the needles which in turn is approximately 4 to 6 times the thickness of the needles. Hence, the needle does not fully occupy the volume of the hole. Two channels (3b) remain open, which may be used for controlling the air flow effecting the fiber transport.
