Abstract: A method of small-charge blasting, a rock drilling unit and a front guide to be used therein. By means of a rock drill machine provided in the rock drilling unit, a hole is first drilled into a material to be excavated and, subsequently, a drilling tool is pulled out of the hole. Next, one or more propellants comprising a propellant charge are fed to the bottom of the hole through a propellant feed channel provided in connection with a feed beam. Then, the hole is sealed and the propellant is ignited, whereupon a high gas pressure is generated, which causes fractioning in the material to be excavated. During the feeding and ignition of the propellant, the rock drill machine is kept in a parallel direction with respect to the hole.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for a safety system of a mining vehicle. The method comprises scanning the surroundings of the mining vehicle while the mining vehicle is driven and giving a collision warning if an obstacle is detected in a safety zone of the mining vehicle. In the system, there is stored obstacle information comprising at least location information of predetermined obstacles. Location information of the obstacle detected on the basis of the scanning is compared with the location information determined in the obstacle information. Stopping of the mining vehicle, caused by the safety system due to the detected obstacle, is prevented in response to the detected obstacle being determined safe on the basis of checking the obstacle information.

Abstract: The invention relates to a rock drilling rig and a method for downhill driving of a rock drilling rig. The rock drilling rig comprises electric drive equipment, the drive motor of which serves as a primary brake in long-term downhill driving. The drive motor thus converts kinetic energy into electric energy, with which an energy storage is charged. To consume surplus electric energy, a hydraulic system or a compressed air system is turned on. A hydraulic pump and a compressor (54) are driven by an electric motor.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for detecting tightness of threaded joints of drill rods when unfastening at least one threaded joint of the drilling equipment (6) by impacting the drilling equipment (6) with a percussion device in the rock drilling rig (1). For detecting the tightness there is predetermined at least one fastened model for a situation where the threaded joint/joints are fastened, a vibration signal measured during impacting is compared with both the fastened model and the unfastened model and, on the basis of the comparison, it is determined to which one of the models the tightness of the threaded joints better corresponds at the moment of determination.
