Patents Assigned to SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION
  • Patent number: 8210278
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for drilling rock, wherein holes to be drilled are determined prior to drilling as a drilling pattern wherein for each hole, a starting place, direction and hole depth for drilling are determined with respect to the rock to be drilled. In the invention, hole-type-specific drilling parameters are determined for the holes to be drilled, and during a drilling phase a drill rig automatically selects drilling parameters for each hole to be drilled on the basis of the hole type of the particular hole.

  • Patent number: 8151901
Abstract: A pressure fluid operated impact device comprising a frame (2) whereto a tool (3) is mountable movably in its longitudinal direction, and control means (7) for controlling pressure fluid feed to the impact device (1), as well as a method of generating a stress pulse in a pressure fluid operated impact device. The impact device (1) comprises a working chamber (8) and a transmission piston (9) moving therein. Energy charging means for charging energy of pressure fluid and the control means are coupled to allow periodically alternately pressure fluid to flow to the working chamber (8) and, correspondingly, to discharge pressure fluid from the working chamber (8). In the method, pressure fluid is fed to the working chamber (8), which produces a force pushing the transmission piston (9) in the direction of the tool (3), thus generating a stress pulse in the tool (3).

  • Patent number: 8118112
Abstract: A hydraulic rock breaking device, a protection valve and a method of operating a hydraulic rock breaking device. The rock breaking device comprises a percussion device to which pressure fluid is fed along an inlet channel. The inlet channel is provided with a protection valve arranged to monitor the volume flow of pressure fluid flowing through it. If the flow is larger than what has been preset, the protection valve closes, at least partly, the connection through it, protecting thus the percussion device against too high an input power. The protection valve comprises a throttle which generates a pressure difference the magnitude of which is dependent on the fed volume flow. Information on the pressure difference is utilized in controlling the protection valve.
