Patents Assigned to SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION
  • Patent number: 7643934
Abstract: A method and a control system for positioning a mine vehicle. Measurement of a distance travelled by the mine vehicle is based on monitoring rotation of a wheel. In the invention, an error caused in the distance measurement by wear of the wheel is compensated for automatically when the distance value obtained from monitoring is corrected by a correction factor. The value of the correction factor is updated at predetermined intervals during use.

  • Patent number: 7634343
Abstract: A method and system for stopping an unmanned mine vehicle in a predetermined position. The mine vehicle is driven at a low speed towards a physical. When the mine vehicle encounters the obstacle (7, 7a, 7b), a speed difference greater than a predetermined limit value is generated between the speed of the mine vehicle and the driving power transmission. The control system of the mine vehicle detects the exceeding of the limit value and stops the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7604070
Abstract: A method and a storage device including a software product for controlling percussive rock drilling, and further a rock drilling rig to which the method is applied. The rotation resistance is monitored, the aim being to keep it below a desired reference value. To adjust the rotation resistance, successive control actions may be carried out, such as decreasing the feed force, decreasing the percussion power and stopping the feed. Control actions are started once a limit set for the control has been exceeded. At least one limit is a time limit determining the time difference between two successive control functions.

  • Publication number: 20090188686
Abstract: A method and software product for controlling a percussion device belonging to a rock-drilling machine, and a percussion device. The impact frequency of the percussion device is set so that the percussion device forms a new compression stress wave to the tool always when reflected waves from the previous compression stress waves reach a first end of the tool. This requires that the impact frequency be set proportional to the propagation time of the stress wave, whereby the length of the used tool and the propagation velocity of the stress wave in the tool material are to be noted.

  • Publication number: 20090090525
Abstract: A hydraulic rock breaking device, a protection valve and a method of operating a hydraulic rock breaking device. The rock breaking device comprises a percussion device to which pressure fluid is fed along an inlet channel. The inlet channel is provided with a protection valve arranged to monitor the volume flow of pressure fluid flowing through it. If the flow is larger than what has been preset, the protection valve closes, at least partly, the connection through it, protecting thus the percussion device against too high an input power. The protection valve comprises a throttle which generates a pressure difference the magnitude of which is dependent on the fed volume flow. Information on the pressure difference is utilized in controlling the protection valve.
