Abstract: A method of manufacturing a duplex stainless steel wire product starting from wire rod, includes the steps of: roughening the wire rod surface; applying a carrier coating on the wire rod surface; peeling the wire rod using a shaving die comprising cemented carbide; roughening the wire rod surface; applying a carrier coating on the wire rod surface; and drawing to final wire dimension. In the peeling step, the shaving die used has a rake face land angle ? which is 10-30°, a rake angle ? which is 10-25°, a clearance angle ? which is 3-10°, a rake face land width w which is 0.1-0.5 mm, and an edge radius which is 0.02-0.08 mm. The duplex stainless steel wire product manufactured according to the method exhibits excellent fatigue resistance.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a polygonal turning insert having primary cutting edges, which individually include a nose edge and two main edges, which converge toward the same. Behind the nose edge, chip-directing guide surfaces are formed, on one hand, with a breast surface included in a knob situated behind the nose edge along a bisector between the main edges, and, on the other hand, with a pair of flank surfaces included in a land there behind. At a distance behind the knob, there is formed a second breast surface, the upper part of which is situated on a higher level than the upper part of the first breast surface. In such a way, it is guaranteed that thin chips, which tend to pass or jump over the first breast surface without being affected by the same, will impinge on the second, higher breast surface and be subjected to guiding by the same.
Abstract: A wear member assembly has a wear member, a wear member receiver with at least first and second contact portions and at least one aperture to receive at least one wear member locating member of the wear member. An attachment mechanism, releasably attaches the wear member to the receiver has at least one moveable attachment member and at least one respective fastening means. Actuation of each of the fastening means moves the associated attachment member to apply a retaining force to one of the contact portions of the receiver and causes the respective wear member locating member to apply a retaining force to the other of the contact portions of the receiver.

Abstract: A cutting bit and bit assembly for mounting at a cutting machine. The bit includes an axially tapered bit body having a recess extending axially within the body. The recess has an innermost region and a mouth region that is generally convex and/or tapered radially outward to abut a corresponding concave or tapered surface of a projection to secure the cutting bit at a holder body. An annular step is positioned within the recess at the mouth region to prevent dust and contaminant fluid or particles from passing axially into the recess.
Abstract: A milling tool for the milling of a slot in a workpiece includes a plurality of cutting inserts, which comprise an under side; an opposite upper side, which forms a chip surface and extends parallel to an extension plane; and an edge side between the upper side and the underside. A cutting edge, which extends between the edge side and the chip surface, includes a primary main cutting edge; a front cutting edge, which extends along an edge line; and a primary corner cutting edge, which extends between and connects the primary main cutting edge and the front cutting edge. The primary corner cutting edge has a convex shape and extends, with respect to a rear portion of the cutting insert, forward from the front cutting edge to a position on the other side of an imaginary line, which forms an extension of the edge line and extends in a tangential direction to a point on the primary corner cutting edge.
Abstract: A gyratory crusher spider arm shield is configured for releasable attachment to a spider arm. The shield includes a main body having an underside foot for engaging onto an upper region of the arm. The secure attachment is provided by cooperation between an attachment element that extends radially inward from an outermost end of the shield and a mount guide provided at sidewalls of the shield that extend laterally each side of the spider arm.

Abstract: A cutting bit retaining assembly for mounting a cutting bit at a cutting machine includes a holder body having a through bore to receive a bit shaft. A retainer acts against the holder body and bit shaft and includes a first and second abutment member that provides a reliable and constant locking force between the body and the shaft.
Abstract: Method for milling a series of teeth of a toothed gear element with teeth in a straight line with a milling cutter rotatable about a milling cutter axis and having at its periphery interchangeable cutting inserts arranged such that, when the milling cutter is brought to the toothed gear element, they reach into gaps between adjacent teeth or generate these gaps, and a corresponding milling cutter. Cutting edges of mounted cutting inserts extend radially and perpendicularly relative to the milling cutter axis. During milling of the tooth profile, the milling cutter axis is aligned in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal extent of the tooth back and, during entering of the cutting inserts, rotated about the milling cutter axis, into the surface or gaps between the teeth, and pivoted in this plane over an angular range covering all normals to the profile surface of the tooth to be produced.
Abstract: A novel system and method for degassing H2S and H2Sx from liquid sulfur (sulphur) is disclosed. The system includes a degassing vessel with a plurality of cells. The cells include a sparging gas mat with a perforated surface at the bottom of the cell to allow the release of air bubbles (or sparging gas) into the cells. A catalyst may be used during the process. As a result, hydrogen sulfide and hydrogen polysulfide are efficiently and effectively removed from the liquid sulfur.

Abstract: A cutting insert for turning includes an upper side, a lower side, a clearance surface connecting the upper side and the lower side, and an upper cutting edge. The upper cutting edge forms a primary edge portion and a secondary edge portion connected by a nose edge portion. On the upper side, a chip former is formed, including a nose bottom surface formed behind the nose edge portion, a primary main bottom surface extending along the primary edge portion, and, between the nose bottom surface and the primary main bottom surface, a continuous primary elevated bottom surface extending along the primary edge portion, having a lowest point lower than the level of the primary edge portion but higher than the lowest point of each of the nose bottom surface and the primary main bottom surface.
Abstract: A face hobbing cutter system for face hobbing spiral bevel gears. The system includes at least one set of detachable cartridge assemblies having a plurality of respective cartridge assemblies. Each cartridge assembly includes a plurality of cartridges and indexable milling inserts. A part of the inserts of each set of cartridge assemblies are rhombic, tangential-mounted inserts for milling flanks of spiral bevel gear teeth, while the other inserts are grooving inserts, which are arranged transversely to the tangential-mounted inserts, for milling roots of spiral bevel gear teeth. The tangential-mounted inserts of each set of cartridge assemblies are provided in pairs, one being provided with its front facing the central axis, and the other being provided with its front facing away the central axis, to respectively mill concave curved flanks and convex curved flanks of the spiral bevel gear teeth.
Abstract: Air compressor systems, upgrade kits, computer readable medium, and methods for controlling an air compressor for improved performance. The methods may include receiving a working air requirement; determining an estimated air pressure of the air compressor to deliver the working air requirement; measuring a pressure of the air compressor; comparing the measured pressure with the calculated estimated air pressure; if the measured pressure of the air compressor is greater than the determined estimated air pressure by a predetermined greater amount, then decreasing an output control of the air compressor; and if the measured pressure of the air compressor is less than the calculated estimated air pressure by a predetermined lesser amount then increasing the output control of the air compressor. The air compressor may be controlled based on a measured pressure of delivered working air. An oil control system may shut off oil to parts of the air compressor.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a coated cutting tool comprising a substrate and a multilayered (Ti,Al)N coating. The coating comprises three zones: a first zone (A) closest to the substrate, a second zone (B) adjacent to the first zone and a third outermost zone (C). All three zones each comprises a multilayered aperiodic structure of (Ti,Al)N, where the average composition for each zone is different from each other and where the ratio between the thickness of the zone C and zone B is between 1.3 and 2.2 and where zzone C>Zzone B, where z is the average composition for each zone of the ratio z=Ti/Al. The coating has a low residual stress.
