Abstract: Forceps treatment systems are described in which a forceps apparatus may generally comprise a first handle and a second handle coupled to one another near or at respective proximal ends. A first paddle may be coupled to the first handle and define a first inner surface, a second paddle may be coupled to the second handle and define a second inner surface which is positioned in apposition to the first inner surface. Furthermore, a debriding member may extend proximally from the first and second handles and reduce and curve gently to define a debriding edge for debriding tissue in proximity to one or more meibomian glands. The forceps apparatus may be used in combination with a heat treatment for treating one or more meibomian glands in a subject.

  • Publication number: 20200078592
Abstract: Differential charge-balancing can be used in high-frequency neural stimulation. For example, a neural stimulation apparatus can have first and second electrodes configured to be coupled proximate to a nerve fiber to implement a neural stimulation procedure. A neural stimulation circuit can be electrically coupled to the first and second electrodes. The neural stimulation circuit can apply stimulation currents to the nerve fiber through the first and second electrodes during a first stimulation phase of the neural stimulation procedure. The neural stimulation circuit can also apply a modified stimulation current to the nerve fiber through the first electrode during a second stimulation phase of the neural stimulation procedure. The modified stimulation current can be generated based on a difference between (i) a voltage at the first electrode, and (ii) a reference voltage derived from voltages on the first and second electrodes.

  • Patent number: 10587331
Abstract: A radio frequency repeater device includes a receive antenna that receives a receive signal having a first frequency. A transmit antenna transmits a repeat signal at the first frequency, the repeat signal being an amplified version of the receive signal. A signal filter communicates with the receive antenna and transmit antenna, the signal filter being operable to amplify quadrature and non-quadrature components of an input signal associated with the repeat signal to produce a filtered repeat signal. A coupler combines the receive signal with the filtered repeat signal in such a way that the filtered repeat signal cancels interference from the transmitted repeat signal in the receive signal.

  • Patent number: 10586336
Abstract: A fully convolutional network (FCN) implemented on a specialized processor optimized for convolution computation can achieve a speed-up in cell classification. Without re-optimizing the specialized processor, a further speed-up is achieved by compacting a testing image of cells, and processing the compacted testing image with the FCN. The testing image is first segmented into a background and regions of interest (ROIs). The ROIs are packed closer together by rearranging the ROIs without resizing them under a constraint that any two adjacent rearranged ROIs are separated by a distance in pixel not less than a minimum distance determined according to stride values of FCN convolutional layers. Geometrical operations in ROI rearrangement include relocating the ROIs and, optionally, rotating the ROIs. The rearranged ROIs are enclosed by a boundary, typically a rectangular boundary, to form the compacted testing image having an area smaller than that of the testing image.
