Abstract: The present invention provides methods of assessing an individual subject's risk of developing prostate cancer, comprising: a) analyzing a nucleic acid sample obtained from the subject and determining a genotype for the subject at a plurality of biallelic polymorphic loci, wherein each of said plurality has an associated allele and an unassociated allele, wherein the genotype is selected from the group consisting of homozygous for the associated allele, heterozygous, and homozygous for the unassociated allele; and b) calculating a cumulative relative risk (CRR) for the subject based on the genotype determined in step (a). A CRR of greater than 1.00 identifies a subject as having an increased risk of developing prostate cancer and also can identify a subject who is a candidate for early PSA screening, prostate biopsy and/or chemoprevention.
Abstract: A method for assigning a single frequency sub-channel to a plurality of MSs (Mobile Stations) in an OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system utilizing SDM (Spatial Division Multiplexing) with multiple transmit/receive antennas. In the method, a BS (Base Station) can effectively assign a pilot channel to estimate a downlink channel. The BS divides the single frequency sub-channel into a plurality of spatial channels, and sequentially assigns the plurality of spatial channels to the MSs having the maximum communication capacity, thereby transmitting signals of the MSs through the single frequency sub-channel.

Abstract: A removable system and method for helping position and stabilize implant supported dentures during the healing process after surgery is provided, wherein a removable system comprises a soft tissue supported provisional denture structure configured to help position and stabilize the provisional denture during the transfer of the implant positions to the provisional denture. In the surgical process of providing implant-supported dentures, immediately after the implants are surgically implanted, adhesive is applied to the underside of the provisional denture, and implant connectors are seated on the implants. The provisional denture is seated in the patient's mouth wherein the soft tissue supported provisional denture structure helps stabilize and position the denture. The implant connectors adhere to the adhesive and transfer the implant positions to the provisional denture.

Abstract: Systems and methods for hyperspectral imaging are described. In one implementation, a hyperspectral imaging system includes a sample holder configured to hold a sample, an illumination system, and a detection system. The illumination system includes a light source configured to emit excitation light having one or more wavelengths and a diffractive element. The illumination system is configured to structure the excitation light into a predetermined two-dimensional pattern at a conjugate plane of a focal plane in the sample, spectrally disperse the structured excitation light in a first lateral direction, and illuminate the sample in an excitation pattern with the one or more wavelengths dispersed in the first lateral direction.

Abstract: A method and a device for image inpainting on arbitrary surfaces in three-dimensional space are described for inpainting a region of a three-dimensional image utilizing a partial differential equation. The method includes obtaining a three-dimensional image on a surface S in three-dimensional space, and each point of the image includes an image point value and a position vector. The method includes locating an inpainting region D and generating an inpainting mask. The method further includes calculating image point values for points inside the inpainting region D and creating a second three-dimensional image to obtain an inpainted image. The present disclosure solves technical problems that previous methods do not work well on three-dimensional images on arbitrary surfaces and improves image inpainting technology.

Abstract: A TiO2-graphene-silver hybrid nanocomposite and a method of preparing the TiO2-graphene-silver hybrid nanocomposite is disclosed. The method of preparation includes introducing sol gel to a microwave irradiation to prepare an irradiated sample of TiO2-graphene oxide sample, wherein the sol gel includes TiO2 containing gel along with graphene containing sol, followed by adding AgNO3 solution to the TiO2-graphene oxide sample for preparing a TiO2-graphene-silver hybrid suspension. The TiO2-graphene-silver hybrid suspension undergoes microwave irradiation to prepare dried TiO2-graphene-silver hybrid composite.
