Abstract: Disclosed is a localised surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) nanopillar assembly. The LSPR assembly is for use in sensing the presence of a biomarker when attached to a quantum dot. The LSPR assembly comprises a substrate and an array. The array comprises a LSPR nanopillar and a polymer spacer attached to the nanopillar. The LSPR assembly further comprises an antibody attached to the at least one polymer spacer. In the LSPR assembly, a combined height of the polymer spacer and antibody is selected by varying the number of monomer units of the polymer spacer, so that, when in use with the biomarker and the quantum dot, the quantum dot is at a predetermined distance from the nanopillar.

Abstract: A silicon carbide chip array containing a silicon carbide substrate; a silicon carbide layer on top of the silicon carbide substrate; a first metal contact connected to the silicon carbide substrate; and two second metal contacts connected to the first portion and the second portion respectively. The silicon carbide layer is thinner and having lower doping than the silicon carbide layer. The silicon carbide layer includes a first portion and a second portion which are separate from each other. Each one of the second metal contacts forms a semiconductor device with the first metal contact. At least one of the first and second portions contains a side face which is inclined with respect to the silicon carbide substrate. Such a configuration enhances the breakdown voltage and reduces leakage current of the resultant silicon carbide diode array.

Abstract: A triplex pneumatic architecture system is disclosed having first, second, and third pneumatic subsystems where triplex redundancy may be accomplished by measuring only one particular node in each system, such as a measured current of the servo valve. Each of the first, second, and third pneumatic subsystems are configured to control a separate redundant pneumatic actuation assembly. Each subsystem may comprise a current sensor to measure a control current from a servo driver to a servo valve that controls the pneumatic actuation assembly to output a measured current value, and a dump valve coupled to a relay. Each processor is configured to generate a termination signal to actuate the first relay to open the first dump valve. The triplex pneumatic architecture system further includes a communication bus to communicatively couple each of the first, second, and third pneumatic subsystems.
