Abstract: Method and device for forming a continuous tubular foil (106, 308). Foil (106, 308) is supplied and buffered. Foil (106) is supplied as flattened tubular foil (106) from a supply. A next piece of foil (308) is supplied from a next supply. The ends of tubular foil (304, 309) are connected. This then allows supplying and buffering next tubular foil (308) supplied from the next supply. The device and method allow connecting the ends of tubular foils (304, 309) by opening the end (309) of the next flattened tubular foil (308) supplied from the next supply and moving the end of the flattened tubular foil (304) in an upstream direction (299) into the opened end of next tubular foil (309) from the next supply. Connection is made using a tape (250, 270) applied onto the foil ends (304, 309).
Abstract: A pouch container and a pouch container packaging prevents oblique seals from turning back, thereby reducing risk of leakage from the pouch container. The pouch container packaging includes a pair of outer films disposed on front and back sides with a spout sandwiched at the top. Each outer film has side edges, a bottom and oblique edges lying between the side edges and the bottom edge. Pair of gusset films is disposed in a folded state between outer films and each has side and oblique edges. Side seals are provided by joining side edges of the outer films to the side edges of the gusset films. A bottom seal is provided by joining outer films along their bottom edges. Oblique seals are provided by joining oblique edges of outer films to oblique edges of gusset films. At least a portion of an inner edge of each oblique seal is curved.
Abstract: Spring energized seal assemblies configured for use in static or dynamic application and methods of using and making same are provided. The seal assemblies can each have a sealing component and optionally a backup ring or a locking ring or both. An annular spring can be used with a spring groove of either the backup ring or the locking to facilitate assembling of the mentioned components of a seal assembly onto each other and the entire seal assembly into a seal cavity of a housing.
Abstract: The invention relates to pipe seals (10) for sealing a joint between a first pipe (32) a second pipe (42), said pipe seal (10) comprising a carrier member (12) and a sealing member (14) attached to the carrier member (12). The carrier member (12) comprises at least one retaining insert (24) with an inner grip portion (52) for gripping the second pipe (42), wherein the retaining insert (24) comprises an outer grip portion (54) for gripping the first pipe (32).
Abstract: Coaxial connecting devices used for transmitting high frequency electrical signals having two connector elements of generally cylindrical profile, and wherein each of the connector elements has an inner conductor, an insulator, and an outer conductor. In one of the two connector elements that may be of a male or a female orientation has two canted coil spring contacts where at least one of a first spring contact can be retained within at least one first spring groove within a second inner conductor and at least one of a second spring contact is retained within at least one second spring groove within a second outer conductor. The at least one second spring contact can be used as a simultaneous EMI shielding contact and latching, locking, or both latching and locking device.
Abstract: An opener mechanism in which a label folded in a sheet shape is opened and fitted to a target body is provided with first suction rods which suck one side of a label, second suction rods which are arranged to oppose the first suction rods and suck the other side of the label, and a drive mechanism which induces movement of the first and second suction rods toward or away from each other. Suction hole arrays in which a plurality of suction holes which suck the label are aligned in a line are formed on the surfaces facing one another of the first suction rods and the second suction rods. The suction holes are arranged in such a manner that the suction hole arrays of the first suction rods and the suction hole arrays formed in the second suction rods opposing the first suction rods are at least partially nonparallel.
Abstract: Seal assemblies in which a seal member having an energizer located in a seal body groove is positioned inside a housing cavity of a housing are disclosed. The sealing member and the energizer, which can be an O-ring or a spring energizer, can be retained inside the housing cavity by positioning a portion of the energizer in a groove in the housing cavity in a locking or latching engagement. Methods of making and using seal assemblies are also disclosed.
Abstract: The disclosure describes a windback device for a circumferential seal within a turbine engine. The windback device includes an annular collar at one end of an annular fluid seal housing, at least one inclined thread, and a plurality of inclined baffles separately disposed along an outer circumferential surface of a rotatable runner. The housing is adapted at another end for an annular seal. The collar has an opening therethrough sized to receive the runner without contact. The annular seal surrounds and sealingly engages the runner. The threads extend from an inner face of the collar toward the runner. The baffles are separately recessed in or raised above the outer circumferential surface of the runner. The baffles are interposed between the runner and threads. Each baffle is separated from the threads via a radial clearance. Threads and baffles direct lubricant away from the annular seal.

Abstract: A packaging machine of the type that is used to hand-wrap a package with a stretchable film that is heat-fused/sealed. The machine includes a supply of film for wrapping a package and a hot plate mechanism for heat fusing the film after the package is wrapped. The hot plate mechanism includes a fever arm that moves a sealing platform from a raised position to a lowered, heat sealing position when the package is placed on the platform. A control circuit energizes a heating element forming part of the sealing platform and causes it to reach a desired heating temperature in 2 to 4 seconds, whereby fusing of the sealing film is achieved. An interval timer is used to control a signaling device such as a light to Indicate the machine is in a heating cycle. A separate timer, in conjunction with a temperature sensing thermistor, controls a length of time the heating element is energized and terminates power to the heating element prior to the end of a sealing Interval if a predetermined temperature is exceeded.

Abstract: The invention relates to a mandrel, a sleeving device and a method for sleeving containers. The mandrel is suspended in the sleeving device. The mandrel opens a foil to form sleeves. The foil is fed around the tubular outer surface of the mandrel. According to the invention the outer surface of the mandrel is formed by at least two separate mandrel bodies. At least one of the mandrel body is biased outwardly to increase the circumference of the outer surface. This circumference is automatically adapted to the current, instantaneous circumference of the foil fed around the mandrel.
