Abstract: Provided is a tool for cutting food into pieces, comprising at least one cutting element adjacent to a bearing surface, the cutting element comprising at least one vertical member forming a longitudinal cutting member provided for slicing the food to be cut longways, and a transverse wall having, on either side of said vertical member, two transverse cutting members provided for separating the food pieces that were sliced longways, so as to provide two channels for cut food. The vertical member has a front notch. A retaining member, which is rigidly connected to the bearing surface, can be inserted into the front notch. Also provided is an accessory for preparing food and to an appliance for preparing food comprising the above-described tool for cutting food into pieces.
Abstract: A heating appliance including a metal substrate, at least a part of which is covered with a self-cleaning coating including at least one oxidation catalyst selected from the platinoid oxides, and at least one dopant of said oxidation catalyst selected from the rare-earth oxides. The self-cleaning coating is a bilayer coating including: an inner layer at least partially covering the metal substrate and including the dopant; and an outer layer in contact with the ambient air and including the oxidation catalyst. Also provided is a method for producing such a heating appliance.
Abstract: Provided is a brewing device for an espresso maker having a brewing chamber for receiving grounds, a pressing ram mounted movably on a path of travel extending between a top position and a bottom compaction position in which it penetrates into said brewing chamber to form a cake of compacted grounds, a hydraulic drive mechanism for the pressing ram having a hydraulic pump and means for measuring the volume of hydraulic fluid injected into the drive mechanism. The brewing device has a control circuit that determines the height of the cake of compacted grounds from signals delivered by the volume measurement means during the travel of the pressing ram.

Abstract: Provided is a heating article comprising a substrate having two opposite surfaces, a heat-stable coating comprising at least one base layer comprising at least one heat-stable binder, said base layer being arranged on one of the surfaces of the substrate, and one microstructured surface layer comprising a heat-stable binder of the same chemical nature as that of the base layer. Abstract: Provided is a sealing gasket for a cooking utensil for cooking food under pressure, the utensil includes a vessel and a lid that define a cooking enclosure.
