Abstract: A voice control method that allows vocal characteristics of a character to diversely be set in a computer game where characters are capable of voice output is provided. The voice control method comprises, converting a voice that is externally input or provided in advance, based upon attribute information on the character; and an output step for outputting the converted voice as voice of the character. According to this method, the voice produced by a character that appears in a computer game can be set in accordance with the character's characteristics and various voices for each character set by each player can be created.
Abstract: Provided are a program and an information processing apparatus for controlling execution of a ball sports simulation game that can provide for a player sensations similar to those experienced when actually playing the sports.
Abstract: An object of this invention is to provide an image processing device which does not interrupt the flow of a game. The processing board in the main game device attaches information required by the player at the completion of each stage to a map and provides it to the player by displaying it on the display in the following way. The front edge of the truck 20 is displayed (FIG. 5(a)), and camera work is conducted showing the game characters 24, 25 riding in the truck 20 (FIG. 5(b)). In order that the relationship between the characters 24, 25 and the truck 20 can be appreciated, a bird's-eye view is shown on the display 1a (FIG. 5(c)), and the camera work is moved again to diagonally above the characters 24, 25, and an enlarged display of the characters 24, 25 is shown (FIG. 5(d)). The map 26 is displayed such that it can be viewed from between the characters 24, 25 (FIG. 5(e)), and finally, the map 26 is displayed as an enlarged image (FIG. 5(f)).
Abstract: A virtual space including a model in place of each user is displayed on a terminal of a user. About an item in which the user is interested, the level of interest is previously registered so that the figure of a model of the other user can vary depending on the level of the interest. For example, about a certain interesting item, if the other user is also interested in that item, the user's terminal screen provides a display of the other user's model differently from the ordinary figure of the model. If not interested, then it is displayed as the ordinary model. Thus, the user can readily find out a user he/she wants to meet.
Abstract: In a map display device, a viewing angle for a three-dimensional road map can be changed horizontally on a screen so that the three-dimensional road map is generated at a standard viewing angle (45°) up to a wide viewing angle (90°). At this time, the viewing angle is changed based on a reference line passing through a current position of a subject vehicle where the map display device is mounted.
Abstract: A prize game apparatus that has plural pairs of pickup arms and can adjust the distance between the pairs of pickup arms is provided. A prize game apparatus includes: a pickup unit capable of moving in specified directions; plural pairs of pickup arms attached to the pickup unit; an opening/closing unit for opening and closing the pairs of pickup arms; and a distance adjustment unit for adjusting the distance between the pairs of pickup arms by moving the pair(s) of pickup arms; wherein a prize is picked up or released by closing or opening the pairs of pickup arms.

Abstract: Three user characters are displayed in a chat room. When a user inputs a character string, the character string is displayed on the screens of the respective users. When a character string inputted by a user contains a character string “Ha,Ha,Ha”, a data table outputs an event corresponding to the character string “Ha,Ha,Ha”. All the user characters participating in the chat make a laughing action, uttering the laughing sound “Ha,Ha,Ha”. The input character processing method not only can simply transmits utterances of respective participants but also can occur various events.
Abstract: A video game apparatus, which generates, based on data obtained by a communication part via a server on a network, game data for causing a game to proceed, includes a control part converting the data obtained from the server on the network into one of a numeric value and a character code string and changing the game data based on the one of the numeric value and the character code string.
Abstract: An image processing method is disclosed for more effectively displaying movements of an object composed of a plurality of polygons. The image processing method displays a moving object by displacing backward given vertices of polygons composing the moving object, imparting an afterimage representation that makes the object look as if it leaves a trail in the direction opposite to their direction of movement. This allows for display of movements of the object in a more emphasized manner and display of the moving object with richer expression.
Abstract: The present invention provides an animation creation program whereby the posture of a structure comprising a plurality of links can be determined by means of a simpler and easer operation. In accordance with the movement of one link in the structure comprising a plurality of links, the animation creation program of the present invention automatically determines the spatial positions of the other links of the structure so that the structure retains a posture that is as natural as possible. The animation creation program of the present invention uses, for example, inverse kinematics computation that is a computation method for controlling a human-type robot (humanoid) and is based on a matrix known as a Jacobian and the inverse matrix thereof which is known as the Singularity-Robust Inverse (SR-Inverse).
Abstract: The present invention provides a second network game (for example, a betting game) using the results of a first network game (for example, a horse racing game), wherein third party users other than users running a first network game can participate. A greater number of users will thereby have interest in the first network game and the first network game will be built up. Also, a greater number of users can participate in a network game through the second network game.
