Abstract: The subject technology relates to an in-line amplifier assembly for distributed sensing system. The subject technology includes deploying a distributed sensing tool into a wellbore, and logging the wellbore using the distributed sensing tool. The distributed sensing tool includes a first optical amplifier and a first optical filter coupled to a first single-mode optical fiber. The first optical amplifier is coupled to a first single-mode circulator for amplifying a single-mode optical signal, and the first optical filter is coupled to the first optical amplifier for filtering the amplified single-mode optical signal. The first single-mode circulator is coupleable to an interrogator for routing the single-mode optical signal to a second single-mode optical fiber and routing a reflective optical signal from a second single-mode optical fiber to the interrogator. The reflective optical signal may traverse a second optical amplifier and a second optical fiber between the first and second single-mode circulators.

Abstract: Mobile nodes communicating in direct mode (DM) may be compelled, due to their mobility pattern, to switch to infrastructure mode (IM) via conventional uplink/downlink through base station (eNB) to maintain best possible link-quality. When mobile nodes move away from each other, Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) may degrade over D2D link, side link (SL), and eNB is forced to re-schedule nodes to IM, incurring additional delay and potential loss of packets in transit. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide systems and methods that uses information such as flow size, transport layer type, bandwidth and RTT to determine whether request initiated by a mobile node for communication with another mobile node is of a particular transfer flow type and based on the request type (i) DM is enabled for communication or (ii) DM mode is disabled and initiates, within the mobile node, request to activate IM mode for communication.

  • Publication number: 20200133942
Abstract: Data processing and storage is an important part of a number of applications. Conventional data processing and storage systems utilize either a full array structure or a full linked list structure for storing data wherein the array consumes large amount of memory and linked list provides slow processing. Thus, conventional systems and methods are not capable of providing simultaneous optimization of memory consumption and time efficiency. The present disclosure provides an efficient way of storing data by creating an integrated array and linked list based structure. The data is stored in the integrated array and linked list based structure by using a delta based mechanism. The delta based mechanism helps in determining the location in the integrated array and linked list based structure where the data should be stored. The present disclosure incorporates the advantages of both array and linked list structure resulting in reduced memory consumption and latency.

Abstract: A media playout system receives a broadcast log transmitted from a media scheduling system. The broadcast log includes a restricted show, and the media playout system makes a first determination a blackout period assigned to the restricted show. The blackout period indicates a period of time associated with the restricted show during which at least one media item is prohibited from being scheduled. The media player also determines that the broadcast log indicates that the at least one media item has been improperly scheduled during the blackout period. • Publication number: 20200129129
Abstract: Health signal monitoring using continuous wave microwave signals is often affected by phase wrapping and null point detection issues. The disclosure herein generally relates to health monitoring, and, more particularly, to a method and a monitoring system for health monitoring using Amplitude Modulated Continuous Wave (AMCW) microwave signals. In this design of the monitoring system, the AMCW microwave signal comprises of a carrier signal and a modulating signal. The modulating signal is used for measuring heart rate and breathing rate of a subject, while the carrier signal is used to tune antenna size in the monitoring system. As the probing wavelength and the antenna size are independent of each other in this design of the monitoring system, the probing wavelength can be adjusted such that effect of the phase wrapping can be minimized. The system addresses the null point measurement problem by quadrature modulating the modulating signal.

  • Patent number: 10635964
Abstract: Systems and methods include initializing a trainees population (TP), calculating an objective function (OF) of the TP to identify a trainer. A teaching pool is created using variables of each trainee and the identified trainer, and unique variables are added to obtain an updated teaching pool (UTP). Search is performed on the UTP to obtain ‘m’ subset of variables and OFs. The OFs of ‘m’ subset are compared with OFs of the trainer's and each trainee's variable and one of the trainer or each trainee are updated accordingly. An updated learning pool (ULP) is created for selected trainee and the trainees, by adding unique variables to obtain ‘n’ subset. The OF of ‘n’ subset are compared with objective functions of selected trainee and the trainees and variables are updated accordingly. These steps are iteratively performed to obtain an optimal subset of variables that is selected for teaching and learning phase.
