  • Patent number: 10620182
Abstract: To optimize the efficiency of a perforating tool system, downhole conditions may be simulated to determine the optimal configuration for the perforating tool system. A simulated wellbore is disposed in a pressure vessel and coupled to a target composite core assembly. A perforating tool system is disposed in the simulated wellbore above the target composite core assembly. The target composite core assembly includes an outer shell. The outer shell comprises a material that supports a rubber bladder or flexible jacket that is disposed about the outer shell. The outer shell isolates the overburden fluid and pressure from the inner core during a radial flow test to more accurately simulate conditions downhole. A parameter of a perforating tool system may be altered based, at least in part, on a result from the radial flow test.

  • Patent number: 10619454
Abstract: A drill pipe mountable wellbore cleaning tool apparatus enables attachment to a drill pipe joint having first and second connector end portions and a cylindrically shaped portion in between the connector end portions. The apparatus includes a support sleeve that is mounted to the drill pipe joint in between the connector end portions. The support sleeve abuts but does not invade the integrity of the cylindrical portion. Centralizers are attached to the opposing ends of the support sleeve, with each centralizer overlapping a portion of the support sleeve. The support sleeve carries one or more debris cleaning tools in between the centralizers. These tools enable debris to be removed from a wellbore. At least one locking clamp is attached to the cylindrical portion next to a said centralizer. The locking clamp prevents the support sleeve from moving longitudinally along the drill pipe joint.

  • Patent number: 10617342
Abstract: A computer system and method is adapted for determining an alertness of a wearer of a computerized wearable device having one or more sensors by receiving a signal from the sensors and determining a baseline heart rate of the wearer. The system monitors the wearer for an elevated heart rate and/or transmits a stimulus to the wearer to produce an elevated heart rate. In response to the elevated heart rate, the system compares the wearer's current heart rate to the wearer's baseline heart rate to determine the wearer's current alertness by calculating the length of time it takes the wearer's current heart rate to return to the baseline heart rate. The system notifies the wearer of the wearer's current alertness by generating an alert such as sending a notification to the wearer's computing device. The system may also generate an alert from a vehicle driven by the wearer.

  • Patent number: 10617999
Abstract: Finely atomized alkaline sorbent salt solutions are injected into a hot flue gas stream to remove SO2. Flash evaporation of the droplets produces very fine dried sorbent particles, which react efficiently with SO2 in the flue gas. The liquid sorbent may be sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide, sodium sulfite, potassium carbonate, potassium hydroxide or the like. In a coal-fired boiler, the liquid sorbent may be injected after the economizer section, where the flue gas temperature is below 850° F., and upstream of a particulate collection device. The dried sorbent particles react with SO2 and then are removed from the flue gas stream in the particulate collection device, producing a cleaned flue gas stream.
