Abstract: A power generating system using magnetic induction and a method of operating same are disclosed. The power generating system includes at least one stationary electromagnet receiving an excitation voltage from a power supply. The at least one stationary electromagnet has a north pole, a south pole and a magnetic field. The system also includes at least one stationary coil positioned inside the magnetic field and intersected by magnetic field lines of the at least one electromagnet such that when the at least one electromagnet is excited, an electromotive force (EMF) is induced in the at least one stationary coil. The power supplied may be AC or DC. The system also includes a frequency modulator for changing the rate of electric current introduced to the at least one electromagnet so that the change of current rate will cause an EMF to be induced in the coil.

Abstract: Wellbore logging tools can include a coil antenna assembly that prevents breakage of a coil wire during downhole use under elevated pressure. The antenna assembly can include an insulator base used to help insulate the wires so elevated downhole pressures do not result in a short to a tool mandrel. The insulator base provides a recessed path for the in/out portions of the wire so manufacturing fixtures of the antenna assembly will not damage them.

The controller is configured to specify an attribute of the user who spoke based on a content and/or voice of the speech of the user detected by the detector, and output notification information suitable for the attribute and/or execute control suitable for the attribute.

Abstract: There is disclosed a method of providing information about a package in transit. The method involves receiving environmental data collected by a sensor associated with the package during transit and identifying contextual data about the package that is associated with the environmental data. The method also involves selectively providing access to the environmental and contextual data together as elements in an information feed to a plurality of parties, wherein the contextual data comprises at least one comment made by a party on an element in the information feed, and wherein one or more elements in the information feed are listed in chronological order beginning at a start time of the transit of the package.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide systems, methods, and techniques for managing merchandising cards. A merchandising card may be, for example, a gift card, loyalty card, or the like. Consistent disclosed embodiments, a system for managing merchandising cards may include one or more memory devices storing instructions and one or more processors configured to acquire, from a device over a network, a plurality of locations associated with the device, the device locations being acquired at different instances in time within a predetermined period of time. Additionally, the one or more processors may be configured to calculate an overall merchant confidence rating for a merchant using the device locations. Further, the one or more processors may be configured to, based on the overall merchant confidence rating, determine that the merchant matches a merchant that is associated with merchandising card, and send a reminder a user of the device.

Abstract: A computer system receives a request to locate a vehicle within a facility. The computer system parses the request to identify one or more characteristics of the vehicle. The computer system identifies a sensor corresponding to the vehicle based on the one or more characteristics of the vehicle. The computer system identifies a most recent location of the vehicle based on the last registered position of the vehicle within the facility. The computer system transmits a signal to a parking spot sensor at the most recent location of the vehicle in the facility. The computer system receives the unique identification. The computer system determines that the unique identification of the vehicle sensor co-located with the parking spot sensor matches the sensor of the requested vehicle. The computer system reports to the user a current location of the vehicle within the facility based on a location of the parking spot sensor.

Abstract: A smoking article includes a tobacco rod comprising a column of filler and a wrapper surrounding the column of filler. The tobacco rod has a circumferential direction, a longitudinal direction, a lit end, and a mouth end. The wrapper includes a base web having generally parallel first and second side edges extending in the longitudinal direction and two ends extending in the circumferential direction wherein the base web is disposed around the column of filler such that the first and second side edges of the base web overlap and form a seam. The base web includes at least one circumferentially extending banded region of fibrous crystalline cellulosic material thereon.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing payment transfers are disclosed. The system may allow senders to remit payments to receivers. The system may receive a payment request. The system may execute a payment risk analysis on the payment request to determine a risk assessment. Based on the risk assessment, the system may invoke a payment processor to complete the payment request. The payment processor may transmit a debit pull to a sender bank. In response to receiving the debit pull the sender bank may debit the payment amount from a sender account from the sender data. The payment processor may transmit a credit push to a receiver bank. In response to receiving the credit push the receiver bank may credit the payment amount to a receiver account from the receiver data.

Abstract: A universal atmospheric deployment device (“UADD”) for use in oil and gas production or similar applications is provided. In one embodiment, the UADD includes a number of storage carriers disposed around a pathway that can be deployed into a well bore. The figures and art described herein show that this novel feature can increase the speed and usefulness of dispatching tools down a well bore, and also decrease down time to install or retrieve these devices. This UADD also removes personnel from the hazardous area, allowing for remote deployment of tools and devices.

Abstract: An e-vapor device may include a cartridge configured to hold a pre-vapor formulation therein. The e-vapor device may additionally include a dispensing body including a ratchet assembly and configured to receive a vaporizer to interact with the ratchet assembly. The vaporizer is configured to access the pre-vapor formulation in the cartridge via a coupling action and to heat the pre-vapor formulation to generate a vapor. The ratchet assembly is configured to undergo a mechanical incrementation with each coupling action to facilitate a simultaneous removal of the cartridge with the vaporizer coupled thereto after a designated number of coupling actions. Accordingly, the overuse of the vaporizer and the adverse sensory effects associated therewith can be reduced or prevented.

A web browser extension executing on the computing device identifies an account associated with the computing device. The web browser extension detects that the computing device navigated to a web page hosted by a third party server. The web browser extension determines that the third party server prompted the computing device to opt into two-factor authentication functionality. The web browser extension determines that the computing device did not opt into the two-factor authentication functionality. The web browser extension prompts, via an application programming interface (API), an organization computing system to update a fraud metric associated with the account.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to a system and method for blockchain coexistence. The blockchain coexistence between a blockchain ecosystem and a non-blockchain ecosystem is enabled by a gateway which establishes communication between any existing system and the blockchain ecosystem. Herein, the system is used to connect a blockchain solution with at least one existing application by utilizing the gateway framework. The gateway framework includes a gateway and information on a set of smart solutions. The gateway incudes a simple Java APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) on one side for the existing systems or the traditional applications to connect to the distributed ledger application programming interface (DLAPI) on the other side for connecting with the different block chain technologies.

Abstract: A system integrating a web browser and telephone is provided. A user enters, and the web browser receives, an input specifying a request to receive an audio output from the telephone. The web browser generates an audio stream which is communicated to the WebRTC gateway. The WebRTC gateway converts the audio stream from a first format into a second format. The WebRTC gateway communicates the converted audio stream to the SIP gateway, which forwards the audio stream to the telephone switch along with information identifying the telephone number to which the audio stream is directed. The telephone switch communicates the audio stream to the telephone where the audio stream is converted to be played using the speaker of the telephone.

Abstract: An acoustic receiver and method for acoustic logging. The acoustic receiver comprises a housing and a sensor subassembly, which is located within the housing. The sensor subassembly comprises a mount and a cylindrical piezoelectric crystal coupled to the mount. The sensor subassembly also comprises an isolation ring positioned between one of the ends of the cylindrical piezoelectric crystal and the mount. The isolation ring directly engages the crystal and the mount. The method of acoustic logging comprises receiving an acoustic signal using an acoustic receiver, which comprises a cylindrical piezoelectric crystal coupled to a mount without an adhesive material. The method also comprises converting the acoustic signal into an electrical signal by the cylindrical piezoelectric crystal and transmitting the electrical signal to a processor via a conductor coupled to the cylindrical piezoelectric crystal.

Abstract: A method of deactiving an underwater hydraulic device provides a hydraulic device that is capable of being operated under water, the device having a hydraulic cylinder with a pushrod and a piston. The device is lowered below a water surface with a hose reel that is located at the water surface area such as on a marine vessel. The hose reel includes first and second hydraulic hoses that connect to the cylinder on opposing sides of the piston. Fluid flow in the first and second hydraulic hoses is continuously monitored. The ratio of the volume of fluid flowing into the cylinder from one side of the piston to the volume of fluid flowing into the cylinder from the other side of the cylinder is continuously calculated with a computer or controller. The hydraulic device is deactivated if the ratio varies from a preset value. One embodiment includes a plurality of flow meters for measuring fluid flow to and from one or more hydraulicly powered apparatuses.

Abstract: A pumping system is provided which includes a motor coupled with a transmission and a pump. The pump includes a housing with a chamber, a plunger coupled with the motor and the transmission and translatable into and out of the chamber creating pressure changes in the chamber, an entry valve at an inlet in the housing to the chamber, an exit valve at an outlet in the housing to the chamber, and an actuator coupled with the entry valve. The actuator is operable to hold the entry valve in an open configuration independent of pressure changes created by the translation of the plunger.
