  • Publication number: 20170334752
Abstract: A process for treating a flue gas desulfurization discharge stream containing dissolved sulfates is presented. Soluble barium compounds, such as barium chloride or barium carbonate are added to the stream in lieu of the traditional two-step lime/carbon dioxide process. The barium compounds cause the sulfate to precipitate as insoluble barium sulfate. The barium sulfate solids settle out of the discharge stream and can be filtered from the process water. The use of soluble barium compounds eliminates the need for subsequent pH adjustment, results in lowering calcium and magnesium concentrations in the discharge stream, and decreases scaling potential in downstream equipment.

  • Publication number: 20170335641
Abstract: The laterally rotating height of a fill up and circulating tool that is mounted on one of the bails supporting an elevator is made shorter with integration of design components. A power cylinder features a hollow piston which incorporates the positioning system for the fill up and circulation tool. An interior slot with a longitudinal and spiral component receives a pin extending that is supported by the cylinder. The mud line is connected below the positioning system. As the mud line descends the fill up tool moves initially axially and rotationally and then axially to align with a sting for connection thereto. Raising the mud line reverses the movement pattern. The tool is cantilevered from the mud line for sole support. Height savings allows tool use with bails of varying lengths without interference. A selectable clutch and valve allow this tool to provide additional features beneficial to operators.

  • Patent number: 9824067
Abstract: Systems and methods for forecasting a time series data are disclosed. The methods include receiving a historical time-series data including a series data and a non-stationary series data. The historical time-series data is processed to obtain a unified time series data. On the unified time series data, a data distribution is plotted and the data distribution is validated based upon a rate function associated with a Large Deviation Theory (LDT). The unified time series data is split validated into vectors based on autocorrelation function (ACF). The unified time series data is further validated. A mixture of Gaussian distribution models is applied and weights are assigned to each of the Gaussian distribution model. By controlling the weights based upon various what-if scenarios, a resultant Gaussian time series data is generated. The resultant Gaussian time series data indicates forecasted time series data of the historical time series data.
