Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to communication technologies, and more particularly to a method and system for establishing a stateless communication between the two devices. In one embodiment, a method for providing communication is disclosed, comprising: receiving a first trigger signal from the electronic device and a second trigger signal from the mobile device; matching the first trigger signal with the second trigger signal in order to validate the communication between the electronic device and the mobile device; generating a first identification token for the electronic device and a second identification token for the mobile device based on the matching; transmitting the first identification token to the electronic device and the second identification token to the mobile device; and providing the communication between the electronic device and the mobile device based on the first identification token and the second identification token.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for measuring a user's English language proficiency. A constructed response generated by a user is received, the constructed response being based on a picture. The constructed response is processed to determine a first numerical measure indicative of a presence of one or more grammar errors in the constructed response. The constructed response is processed to determine a second numerical measure indicative of a degree to which the constructed response describes a subject matter of the picture. The constructed response is processed to determine a third numerical measure indicative of a degree of awkward word usage in the constructed response. A model is applied to the first, second, and third numerical measures to determine a score for the constructed response indicative of the user's English language proficiency. The model includes first, second, and third variables with associated first, second, and third weighting factors, respectively.

Abstract: A method and system for generating a location identifier using a location code and a grid coordinate. The location code corresponds to a defined geographical area, such as a postal code or an area code. A grid coordinate can be determined based on destination location information, such as an address, a GPS-determined position, or other reference to a specific physical location. The location identifier is combined with the location code to generate a location identifier, which can be encoded in a computer readable format and placed on items for use in a distribution network. The location identifier can be used to facilitate domestic or international distribution of items using a common format or addressing scheme. The domestic and foreign distribution networks read and interpret location identifiers in order to deliver items.

Abstract: A well logging tool includes a neutron generator to generate and emit energetic neutrons using substantially exclusively a T-T fusion reaction. The well logging tool can include measuring instrumentation for measurement and logging of formation parameters based on elastic scattering in subsurface formations of neutrons emitted by the neutron generator. The neutron generator can have a concentric layout, in which a cylindrical target structure loaded with tritium particles is located co-axially in an elongate cylindrical housing, with mobile tritium ions being accelerated radially inwardly into impact with the target structure. Production of the mobile tritium ions may be by field ionization through operation of a nano-structure field ionization array.

Abstract: Embodiments herein describe computer implemented methods and systems for automatically deploying and versioning scripts in a computing environment. One embodiment includes validating a plurality of scripts associated with an application stored in a repository server by executing the plurality of scripts in a first database, creating at least one patch file comprising at least one of the plurality of scripts upon successful validation of the plurality of scripts associated with the application, and automatically storing the at least one patch file in the repository server, where the at least one of the plurality of scripts are automatically versioned in the repository server. Further embodiments herein enable the plurality of users to track patch files by automatically storing the plurality of scripts with updated comments from the plurality of users. Further, a notification mechanism for alerting the plurality of authorized users about the change to the plurality of scripts is provided.

Abstract: Embodiments of the claimed subject matter are directed to methods and a system that allows an application comprising a single code set under the COBOL Programming Language to execute in multiple platforms on the same multi-platform system (such as a mainframe). In one embodiment, a single code set is pre-compiled to determine specific portions of the code set compatible with the host (or prospective) platform. Once the code set has been pre-compiled to determine compatible portions, those portions may be compiled and executed in the host platform. According to these embodiments, an application may be executed from a single code set that is compatible with multiple platforms, thereby potentially reducing the complexity of developing the application for multiple platforms.

Abstract: A well, well head, drilling and completion system, and method for relieving pressure buildup between concentric casing annuli. The well head includes casing hangers and a tubing hanger that may include annular pressure relief conduits formed therein, which selectively vent casing annuli to the interior of the production tubing. Annular pressure relief valves are located within the annular pressure relief conduits, which may open and/or shut based on pressure, temperature, or elapsed time.

Abstract: A video recording system for a head safety device includes a microcontroller and an accelerometer mounted in the head safety device. The accelerometer is coupled to the microcontroller. A plurality of camera modules are mounted on the head safety device and coupled to the microcontroller. The camera modules are positioned facing outward to obtain images at different angles of an environment surrounding the head safety device. The microcontroller receives data from the accelerometer and automatically initiates video recording with the camera modules when movement of the head safety device, as sensed using the accelerometer, reaches or exceeds a selected movement threshold.

Abstract: Methods, systems, apparatuses, and computer program products are provided for arranging for shipping a package without the customer needing to generate or apply a shipping label, or any other information, to the package. In one embodiment, a system may comprise a carrier server and a carrier device. The carrier server may receive and store a smart code and shipping information associated with the package, which it may link together. The carrier device may capture the smart code from the package and send a request, including the smart code, to the carrier server for related shipping information. The carrier server may receive the request from the carrier device, retrieve the shipping information based on the smart code, and send the shipping information to the carrier device. The carrier device may receive the shipping information and generate a shipping label for the package based on the shipping information.

Abstract: In some aspects of what is described here, a downhole nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) logging tool can obtain NMR data from a subterranean region. The NMR logging tool includes a magnet assembly operable to produce a static magnetic field in the subterranean region. The NMR logging tool includes an antenna system having a first radio-frequency (RF) antenna, a second RF antenna, and a switching system. The switching system can switch the second antenna among operating modes while the NMR logging tool is disposed in a borehole in the subterranean region. The operating modes can include a booster mode, a spoiler mode, and an inactive mode.

Abstract: A distance of a water flow path and a velocity of the water flow is calculated using data obtained from both a pulsed neutron sensor and distributed acoustic sensors. The two distance and velocity values are compared to obtain a first calculated distance and velocity. The distance of the water flow path and the velocity of the water flow are calculated using the Doppler data obtained from distributed Doppler sensors. The distance and velocity values are compared with the first calculated distance and first calculated velocity to obtain a second calculated distance and velocity values. The distance of the water flow path and the velocity of the water flow are calculated using temperature data obtained from distributed temperature sensors. The distance and velocity values are compared with the second calculated distance and velocity to determine a distance of a cement interface, and a velocity of a water flow therein.

Abstract: Dual-purpose additives that may be used as viscosifying agents and surface active agents in fluids, subterranean treatments and oilfield operations are provided. In one embodiment, the methods comprise: providing a treatment fluid comprising a base fluid and a polymeric dual-purpose additive comprising a base polymer comprising a plurality of monomer units, and one or more hydrophobic groups bonded to at least one of the monomer units; introducing the treatment fluid into at least a portion of a subterranean formation; and depolymerizing at least a portion of the dual-purpose additive to form one or more surface active fragments, each of the surface active fragments comprising one or more of the hydrophobic groups bonded to one or more of the monomer units.

Abstract: A method for entity recognition employs document-level entity tags which correspond to mentions appearing in the document, without specifying their locations. A named entity recognition model is trained on features extracted from text samples tagged with document-level entity tags. A text document to be labeled is received, the text document being tagged with at least one document-level entity tag. A document-specific gazetteer is generated, based on the at least one document-level entity tag. The gazetteer includes a set of entries, one entry for each of a set of entity names. For a text sequence of the document, features for tokens of the text sequence are extracted. The features include document-specific features for tokens matching at least a part of the entity name of one of the gazetteer entries. Entity labels are predicted for the tokens in the text sequence with the named entity recognition model, based on the extracted features.

Abstract: In one example, a method for optimizing operational parameters of a hardware implemented telemetry system is provided. The operational parameters can include a performance characteristic, an energy use, data creation, and a cost. The operation parameters are monitored. The method further includes adjusting a balance between the operational parameters in accordance with a predetermined operational guideline.

The spring assist system comprises a spring which applies a spring force on a head support deck section to aid in motion from a first position at a higher inclination to a second position at a lower inclination with respect to a supporting frame member. The spring assist system is configured to exclusively apply spring force between the first position and the second position.

Abstract: A thin garment closure includes a male member with a bar having a ball on at least one end and a female member having a trough shaped complementary to the bar. The bar is positionable in the trough when the male and female members in a substantially transverse orientation, and when one member is rotated so that both members are substantially coplanar the closure is closed. The male and female members each have a flat surface which contacts the flat surface of the mating member when the closure is closed, enabling a thin and narrow closure. In an embodiment, the trough has sidewalls which guide the bar into position in the trough for improved manipulation of the closure. In another embodiment, a detent resists decoupling of the closure while allowing coupling over a range of insertion angles.

The delayed crosslinking composition includes a crosslinker including a functionality chosen from —B(OH)2, —B?(OH)2, —O—B(OH)—O—B(OH)—O—, —O—B(OH)—O—B?(OH)(—O—)2, a salt thereof, an ester thereof, and a combination thereof. The delayed crosslinking composition also includes a glycol including at least one of a 1,2-diol and a 1,3-diol.
