  • Patent number: 10430228
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein generally relate to a method and system for automatically updating a virtual machine image of one or more virtual machines of an auto-scaling group. A computing system receives an indication to update a virtual machine image of a plurality of virtual machines in a plurality of auto-scaling groups. Computing system identifies a subset of the plurality of auto-scaling groups that contains a hydration tag. Computing system locates a version of the virtual machine image different from a current version of the virtual machine image. For each auto-scaling group in the subset of auto-scaling groups, computing system clones a launch configuration for the virtual machines in the auto-scaling group. Computing system stores data associated with each auto-scaling group in a remote location. Computing system updates the virtual machine image of the virtual machines in each auto-scaling group with the new version of the virtual machine image.

  • Patent number: 10429528
Abstract: Uncertainty of microseismic monitoring results can be reduced to improve hydraulic fracture modeling. A computing device can use a fracture model to determine a predicted geometry of a hydraulic fracture in a subterranean formation based on properties of a fracturing fluid that is introduced into the subterranean formation. An uncertainty index of the predicted geometry of the hydraulic fracture can be determined based on an uncertainty value of the predicted geometry and a trend of uncertainty values. When the injection flow rate of the fracturing fluid is less than a maximum flow rate, it can be increased from an initial injection flow rate to an increased injection flow rate in response to determining the uncertainty index exceeds a pre-set maximum.

  • Patent number: 10428636
Abstract: A weir assembly system comprises an insert dimensioned to be inserted into a section of a wellbore and a plurality of weirs spaced within the insert so as to increase the separation of solids from fluid within the section of the wellbore when the fluid is flowing through the wellbore. The plurality of weirs may be oriented to create a tortuous fluid flow path, such that a flow opening of a first weir causes solids to deposit at a second weir without obstructing a flow opening of the second weir. Additional apparatus, methods, and systems are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20190293894
Abstract: Various embodiments include methods and apparatus structured to increase efficiencies of a drilling operation. These efficiencies may be realized with a fiber cable located in a wellbore at a well site, where the fiber cable can include an optical fiber disposed as a single handed helix in the fiber cable, where the optical fiber is disposed in the cable without having helix hand reversal. Construction of such fiber cables may include applying a twist to the optical fiber during insertion of the optical fiber into the fiber cable in a tubing process in which control of an amount of the twist to form a portion of the optical fiber can control excess fiber length in the tube. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods can be implemented in a variety of applications.

  • Publication number: 20190294977
Abstract: The disclosure generally relates to system architectures, and, more particularly, to a method and system for system architecture recommendation. In existing scenario, a solution architect often gets minimum details about requirements, hence struggles to design a system architecture that matches the requirements. The method and system disclosed herein are to provide system recommendation in response to requirements provided as input to the system. The system generates an acyclic dependency graph based on parameters and values extracted from an obtained user input. The system then identifies a reference architectures that matches the requirements, and further selects components that match the architecture requirements. The system further selects technologies considering inter-operability of the technologies. Further, the system generates architecture recommendations for the user, based on the selected components, and technologies.

  • Publication number: 20190292872
Abstract: A computing device can determine the integrity of a blowout preventer in a well system using a model generated from real-time sensor data. For example, the computing device can receive predetermined values associated with how pressure decays or otherwise changes in a pressurization subsystem overtime. The pressurization subsystem can be for pressurizing the blowout preventer. The computing device can also receive, from a pressure sensor, real-time pressure measurements indicating pressures in the pressurization subsystem. The computing device can generate the model based on the predetermined values and the pressure measurements. The computing device can use the model to predict the pressure in the pressurization subsystem during a future period of time. The computing device can analyze aspects of the predicted pressure in the pressurization subsystem over the future period of time to determine if the blowout preventer is functioning properly.
