Abstract: An optical analysis tool includes an integrated computational element (ICE) including an ICE core to process light received by the ICE from a sample, when the tool is operated, such that the processed light is related, over a wavelength range, to a characteristic of the sample. Additionally, the ICE includes a filter monolithically coupled to the ICE core, the filter to block light at wavelengths that are either shorter than the wavelength range or longer than the wavelength range, or both, such that the ICE outputs, when the tool is operated, processed light that is passed by the filter.

Abstract: Disclosed embodiments include apparatus and methods for transferring a pressure to downhole electronics with a pressure transfer medium. An embodiment of the apparatus includes a body supporting a moveable pressure transfer member, a pressure transfer medium contained by the body and the moveable pressure transfer member, and an electronic component disposed in the pressure transfer medium, wherein the pressure transfer member is moveable to transfer a pressure to the pressure transfer medium and the electronic component. Another embodiment of the apparatus includes a moveable enclosure and a non-conductive material, wherein the non-conductive material isolates an electronic component from a downhole fluid and the moveable enclosure is operable to transfer a hydrostatic pressure to the non-conductive material and the electronic component. An embodiment of a method includes transferring a downhole hydrostatic pressure to an electronic component via a flexible package and a pressure transfer medium.

Abstract: An embodiment of a monitoring system for inspecting underground well structures includes a transmitter, a receiver, a processing module, and a power supply. The monitoring system is used to monitor pipe casings and structures surrounding the exterior of the pipe casings of a well. During operation, the transmitter directs time dependent energy radially towards a portion of a pipe casing, and the receiver measures energy that is returns to the system. The processing module amplifies, digitizes, and analyses the measurements of energy to produce monitoring information regarding the well structures.

Abstract: This disclosure concerns the discovery of (R,R)- and (R,S)-fenoterol analogues which are highly effective at binding ?2-adrenergic receptors. Exemplary chemical structures for these analogues are provided. Also provided are pharmaceutical compositions including the disclosed (R,R)-fenoterol and fenoterol analogues, and methods of using such compounds and compositions for the treatment of cardiac disorders such as congestive heart failure and pulmonary disorders such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Abstract: An aqueous slurry composition for use in industries such as petroleum and pipeline industries that includes: a particulate, an aqueous carrier fluid, a chemical compound that renders the particulate surface hydrophobic, and a small amount of an oil. The slurry is produced by rendering the surface of the particulate hydrophobic during or before the making of the slurry. The addition of the oil greatly enhances the aggregation potential of the hydrophobically modified particulates once placed in the well bore.

Abstract: A method of configuring a blade of a drill bit includes determining a first desired depth of cut for a first radial swath associated with a bit face of a drill bit. The first radial swath is associated with a first area of the bit face. The method further includes identifying a first plurality of cutting elements located on the bit face. Each of the cutting elements includes at least a portion located within the first radial swath. The method additionally includes configuring a first blade surface of a blade. The first blade surface is located within the first radial swath and configured based on the first desired depth of cut for the first radial swath. The blade surface is also configured based on each portion of the first plurality of cutting elements located within the first radial swath.

Abstract: An apparatus for removing eggs from an egg carrier is provided. Such an apparatus includes a frame and an egg lifting system having an array of egg lifting devices configured to lift eggs from the egg carrier. A platform assembly has a platform configured to be moveably positioned between the array of egg lifting devices and the egg carrier. In this manner, the platform is capable of being positioned to receive eggs released from the egg lifting devices while concurrently obstructing access of the egg lifting devices to the egg carrier. Abstract: Shear thinning fluids may be useful as calibration fluids for calibrating rheometers with bob/rotor eccentricity and at lower shear rates, which may be particularly useful for calibrating rheometers at well sites that are used for measuring the rheological properties of complex fluids (e.g., wellbore fluids like drilling fluids, cementing fluids, fracturing fluids, completion fluids, and workover fluids). Additionally, high shear rate calibrations may also be performed with shear thinning calibration fluids. Newtonian fluids may be used for high shear rate calibrations in alternate of or in addition to the shear thinning calibration fluid.
