  • Publication number: 20140007782
Abstract: A compacting system compacts particulate matter in open-top railroad gondola cars rolling on rails. The compacting system comprises a compacting station adjacent the rails and a scanning system that scans the gondola cars as they move along the rails toward the compacting station. The scanning system transmits data of the gondola car to an electronic control system. The compacting station has at least one compaction member, e.g., a plate structure or a roller, configured to contact an upper surface of the particulate matter in the gondola cars. The electronic control system controls the compacting station so that the compaction member engages with and applies force to the upper surface of the particulate matter in the gondola car so as to compress the particulate matter in the gondola. A method for compacting particulate matter in a gondola car is also shown.

  • Patent number: 8626905
Abstract: A refrigerated server rack that may be used in a server room to cool computing equipment. The refrigerated server rack may contain a cooling unit or include a cooling inlet to receive chilled air to cool the computing equipment within the server rack. The self contained server rack has a modular design such that it may be easily integrated into mounting point within a data center. As the requirements of the data center change, server racks may be added or removed to provide scalability. As the racks are added or removed, a monitoring application discovers the server racks and equipment contained therein. The server rack and equipment may then be configured to operate within the data center computing infrastructure. Because only the interior of the self-contained server rack is cooled to maintain a proper operating environment for the computing equipment, there is no need to cool entirety of the data center.

  • Patent number: 8625598
Abstract: The disclosed systems and methods provide for the compression and decompression of packet headers. An uncompressed header can be compressed in size to form a smaller, compressed header, such that the compressed header can include values that can be used to re-produce the uncompressed header. A compressed header can include at least two such values. A first value of the at least two values can be computed based on a second, earlier uncompressed header and can be used to derive the uncompressed header. Similarly, a second value of the at least two values can be computed based on a third uncompressed header and can be used to derive the same uncompressed header. Accordingly, the uncompressed header can be derived based on the first value and the second uncompressed header, or based on the second value and the third uncompressed header. The uncompressed header, second uncompressed header, and third uncompressed header can be associated with different packets.
