Abstract: The present application relates to a computer-implemented method, system, and computer program product for telecommunications rating. The computer-implemented method for telecommunications rating may comprise: receiving an event from a source system for a service, wherein the event is generated by a user; transforming the event into a normalized event by determining event characteristics comprising determining a guiding point identifier to identify a guiding point associated with the user; by using the guiding point identifier, retrieving from the guiding point a list of products operable to guide the normalized event; rating the normalized event by calculating and aggregating costs according to the list of products; and posting the costs by updating at least one balance associated with the user, the guiding point, and/or the service.

Abstract: Of the many compositions and methods provided herein, one method includes providing a settable fluid that comprises an aqueous-based medium, a lime composition, and a cementitious blend that comprises metakaolin particulates and aluminosilicate particulates, wherein the cementitious blend is essentially free of Portland cement; introducing the settable fluid into a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation that comprises a corrosive component; and allowing the settable fluid to set therein.

Abstract: A setting tool for an expandable liner hanger. A method includes the steps of: releasably securing the setting tool to the hanger, the setting tool including an expansion cone for displacing through the hanger; and conveying the setting tool and hanger into the well on a generally tubular work string while no portion of the hanger extends longitudinally between the expansion cone and the work string. A setting tool includes an expansion cone, which is displaceable through the liner hanger to expand the hanger; at least one piston positioned on one side of the expansion cone; and an anchoring device for releasably securing the setting tool to the liner hanger, the anchoring device being positioned on an opposite side of the expansion cone. The expansion cone is pressure balanced between its two sides when the expansion cone is displaced through the liner hanger.

Abstract: Methods and systems for retirement planning that provides an insurance against a failure to obtain a desired retirement savings amount because of market forces. A retirement planning engine may run on a server and operates to determine a customer's retirement plans. The retirement planning engine may define a customer's retirement plan using one or more savings or investment vehicles, and details an amount to be saved of time in order to provide a desired income for the customer's retirement years. In some implementations, the retirement planning engine may offer a retirement “gap” insurance product to the customer to protect against a difference between the amount saved by the customer and the amount needed to achieve desired annual income for the retirement years. The insurance policy may cover this “gap” if the customer adheres to the plan defined by the retirement planning engine.

Abstract: A distribution plan that indicates how to encode and distribute backup data across multiple data centers may be generated. The distribution plan may be generated such that one or more characteristics of the distribution plan, such as costs, are optimized while constraints on the plan, such as protection level, recovery point objective (RPO), and recovery time objective (RTO) are satisfied. The protection level may indicate the number of the data centers that are to remain available such that the backup data is recoverable from encoded fragments of the backup data stored in the data centers that remain available.

Abstract: A churn analysis system helps a business analyze, predict, and reduce customer churn. The system analyzes customer experiences by using an insightful block level approach to correlate customer experience with customer churn. Through the block level approach, the system is able to more accurately predict and effectively reduce future customer churn. As a result, businesses are able to reduce customer acquisition costs and improve customer retention rates.

Abstract: Various methods and systems are provided for monitoring fuel usage and/or remaining run time of backup power sources. In one embodiment, a method includes tracking run time of a backup power source; determining a current fuel level associated with the backup power source; and providing a fuel level warning. In another embodiment, a system includes a fuel monitoring system including logic that obtains a current run time corresponding to a backup power source; logic that determines a current fuel level based at least in part upon the current run time, the current fuel level corresponding to a fuel source supplying the backup power source; and logic that provides a fuel level warning based upon the current fuel level and a predefined fuel level threshold.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are isolated immunogens including variant gp120 polypeptides. In an example, a variant gp120 polypeptide includes a deletion of at least 8 consecutive residues of the fourth conserved loop (C4) between residues 419 and 434 of gp120 according to HXB2 numbering. Also provided are isolated nucleic acid molecules encoding the disclosed isolated immunogens. In an example, an isolated nucleic acid molecule further includes a nucleic acid molecule encoding a hepatitis B surface antigen or a variant thereof. Compositions including the isolated immunogens including variant gp120 polypeptides are also disclosed. In some examples, a composition further includes a carrier protein, such as a hepatitis B surface antigen or a variant thereof (natural or recombinant). Viral-like particles are also provided including any of the disclosed isolated immunogens or compositions.

Abstract: A banking system comprises automated banking machines which include a card reader, check imaging device, and cash dispenser. Each system machine can cash a code-correlated check in exchange for receiving both the check and the code assigned to the check, without requiring any user identifying input through the machine's user input devices as a condition for cashing the check. The system allows a potential recipient of a personal check to call in a given code to a system computer, which can verify whether the check is backed by funds reserved for the check amount and whether the check can be anonymously cashed. From the call the system computer can obtain the mobile phone's GPS location to determine the system machine nearest to the phone. When informing the phone user that a check is as good as cash, the system computer can also provide directions to that nearest system machine.

Abstract: A method for testing a speaker (212) and microphone (216) of a communication device (110) is provided. The method includes playing a first audio signal through the speaker (212) and determining whether the first audio signal is audible. If the first audio signal is audible, the communication device (110) receives a second audio signal through its microphone (216) and plays the second audio signal through the speaker (212). If the second audio signal is audible the method determines that the microphone (216) is properly functioning. Such a method allows the communication device (110) to be quickly and easily tested.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods consistent with the present invention provide for identifying and processing mail using an identification code on a mailpiece as a redundant source of identification information in a mail sorting system. In one embodiment, this information is stored in a temporary database and used for the identification and processing of mail in a Remote Bar Code System (RBCS). In this embodiment, the identification code enables the automation of mail sorting and other processing tasks, reducing costs and delays in mail delivery services. In another embodiment, the identification and processing of mail occurs in and identification Code Sorting (ICS) system. In this embodiment, a long-term database allows for mail sorting and other processing tasks on a national or global level.

Abstract: Systems, devices, apparatuses, and methods for conducting a transaction in which a consumer purchases a product or a service by providing payment to a merchant whom is not the provider of the product or service. The invention permits a consumer to present cash or a payment device (such as a credit card or debit card) to a merchant, where that merchant may be an element of a load network or payment processing network. In a typical load network transaction, the merchant would accept the cash or payment device from the consumer and use the funds provided to “load” or recharge an account of the consumer. However, instead of this use of the network, embodiments of the invention operate to allow the consumer to provide the source of payment to the merchant for a product or service offered by a third party which is accessed by the consumer using a consumer token.

Abstract: Image analysis techniques, including object recognition analysis, are applied to images obtained by one or more image capture devices deployed within inventory environments. The object recognition analysis provides object recognition data (that may include one or more recognized product instances) based on stored product (training) images. In turn, a variety of functionalities may be enabled based on the object recognition data. For example, a planogram may be extracted and compared to a target planogram, or at least one product display parameter for a product can be determined and used to assess presence of the product within the inventory environment, or to determine compliance of display of the product with a promotional objective. In yet another embodiment, comparisons may be made within a single image or between multiple images over time to detect potential conditions requiring response. In this manner, efficiency and effectiveness of many previously manually-implemented tasks may be improved.
