Abstract: Methods and apparatus for performing a sealing operation. A sealing element is introduced into a wellbore having a temperature. The sealing element comprises a material having a positive coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), and a material having a negative CTE. The sealing element is expanded to contact an adjacent surface. The material having a negative CTE expands when the wellbore temperature is decreasing and the expansion of the negative CTE material maintains contact of the sealing element with the adjacent surface while the wellbore temperature is decreasing.

Abstract: A method for synchronizing agent staffing and customer call volume within a contact center estimates the number of agents to staff the contact center during a future time and uses historical data to estimate the number of customer calls anticipated during the future time. The method performs a first comparison of the number of agents with the anticipated customer calls volume for the future time and then determines at least one preferred contact-center callback window. The method communicates with the customer to request at least one preferred customer-selected callback time and performs a second comparison to provide the customer with a suggested callback time that is selected to synchronize the customer call volume with the number of agents, the preferred contact-center callback window, and the preferred customer-selected callback time to improve the customer's experience and efficiency of the contact center.

Abstract: A method of controlling a hot wire anemometer (HWA) of a non-nicotine e-vaping device includes controlling, by a first PID controller, a level of power applied by the non-nicotine e-vaping device to the HWA based on a temperature of a heated element of the HWA and a temperature setpoint; generating a puff detection signal indicating whether or not a puff is currently occurring with respect to the non-nicotine e-vaping device; and while the puff detection signal indicates that a puff is not currently occurring with respect to the non-nicotine e-vaping device, detecting, by a second PID controller, a change in an ambient temperature of the HWA, and controlling, by the second PID controller, the temperature setpoint such that the temperature setpoint changes in response to the detected change in the ambient temperature of the HWA.

Abstract: Currently approaches for inversely obtaining plasmonic meta unit dimensions for given structural color require a considerably large dataset for inverse prediction. Further, they also suffer from low accuracy in regions corresponding to x and y coordinates proximal to the 45-degree axis in a CIE 1931 colour space i.e., close to the white point. Present disclosure provides method and system for inversely predicting nanofeatures of plasmonic metasurface using remodeled variational autoencoder. The system uses a remodeled variational autoencoder (VAE) network that inversely predicts plasmonic metasurface nanofeatures while providing diversity as well as prediction accuracy. The remodeled VAE network has a probabilistic encoder that maps chromaticity coordinates to a latent space and a probabilistic decoder that maps this latent space back to the coordinates.

Abstract: In some aspects, a computing system may authenticate a user before blockchain functions may be performed and provide obstacles to prevent brute force attacks in decentralized computing systems or other distributed computing system environments. The computing system may use a smart contract to assist with authenticating a user. As authentication attempts fail, the computing system may increase a network usage cost associated with authentication. By doing so, the security of a computing system may be improved by making it cost-prohibitive for malicious actors to perform brute force attacks. Further, a computing system may use a variety of biometric information that may provide additional verification and security when authentication is performed.
