Abstract: A distributed acoustic system may comprise an interrogator which includes a single photon detector, an umbilical line comprising a first fiber optic cable and a second fiber optic cable attached at one end to the interrogator, and a downhole fiber attached to the umbilical line at the end opposite the interrogator. A method for optimizing a sampling frequency may comprise identifying a length of a fiber optic cable connected to an interrogator, identifying one or more regions on the fiber optic cable in which a backscatter is received, and optimizing a sampling frequency of a distributed acoustic system by identifying a minimum time interval that is between an emission of a light pulse such that at no point in time the backscatter arrives back at the interrogator that corresponds to more than one spatial location along a sensing portion of the fiber optic cable.

Abstract: Motion parameters estimation for localization of differential drive vehicles is an important part of robotics and autonomous navigation. Conventional methods require introceptive as well extroceptive sensors for localization. The present disclosure provides a control command based adaptive system and method for estimating motion parameters of differential drive vehicles. The method utilizes information from one or more time synchronized command signals and generate an experimental model for estimating one or more motion parameters of the differential drive vehicle by computing a mapping function. The experimental model is validated to determine change in the one or more motion parameters with change in one or more factors and adaptively updated to estimate updated value of the one or more motion parameters based on the validation. The system and method of present disclosure provide accurate results for localization with minimum use of extroceptive sensors.

Abstract: State of art systems in the domain of dynamism detection fail to estimate noise if depth images are being collected as input for the dynamism detection, as the noise in depth images depend on the scene being captured. Disclosed herein are method and system for determining dynamism by processing depth image of a scene. The system models depth sensor noise as ergodic stochastic process by determining that distribution estimated at each reference pixel from a plurality of neighborhood pixels in a reference image being processed is statistically same as a distribution estimated from evolution of the reference pixel over the time. After modeling the depth sensor noise in this manner, the same is eliminated/removed from the reference image, which is then processed to estimate divergence at each pixel based on temporal and spatial distribution built at pixel level in the reference image, and in turn determines dynamism in the scene.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to attention shifting of a robot in a group conversation with two or more attendees, wherein at least one of them is a speaker. State of the art has dealt with several aspects of Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) including responding to a source of sound at a time, addressing a fixed viewing area or determining who is the speaker based on eye gaze direction. However, attention shifting to make the conversation human-like is a challenge. The present disclosure uses audio-visual perception for speaker localization. Only qualified direction of arrivals (DOAs) are used for the audio perception. Further the audio perception is complimented by visual perception employing real time face detection and lip movement detection. Use of HRI rules, clustering of the DOAs, dynamic adjustment of rotation of the robot and a dynamically updated knowledge repository enriches the robot with intelligence to shift attention with minimum human intervention.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to real-time path planning. Planning amidst obstacles in a cluttered indoor environment is a difficult task for a robotic agent. The disclosed method provides semidefinite programming induced free-space based path planning. Free-space is generated by an efficient environment grid resolution independent seeding technique. In the proposed resolution independent seeding technique, initial position of the robotic agent is considered as the first seed. For subsequent seeding, information of the expanded earlier seeds are employed intelligently. This process is followed unto a finite sequence, which naturally results in a contiguous navigable convex free-space. This contiguous navigable convex free-space is employed to create an undirected graph, which is then used for path planning. Path planning is done locally by evaluating the subgoal with respect to a final goal. Local planning cumulatively assists the planner to attain the final goal.

Abstract: The disclosure generally relates to systems and methods for detecting personally identifiable information (PII). The present systems and methods solve the problem of detecting the PII and the PII column names in the customer database with enhanced accuracy, by developing a PII classification model trained with an enhanced and effective training dataset. An enhanced sub-metadata from the metadata having the plurality of the column names is obtained by using highest match distance values, the string comparator values, and the is PII indicator values. The enhanced sub-metadata comprising the column names that can be easily differentiated as PII columns or non-PII columns. Hence the training dataset and the testing dataset obtained from the enhanced sub-metadata improves the accuracy of the PII classification model. Preventive measures can be taken to protect such detected PII present under the PII columns by employing various data privacy and protection techniques.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to a system and method for masking text within images. Conventionally, image masking approaches have enabled masking but masking PI data which contains sensitive data is still a challenge. The present disclosure includes training and masking phase, wherein during training phase the PI label and values of the input image are captured and stored as co-ordinates in the database. During masking, the test image and the words comprised in the test image are optimized using an OCR technique. The label and value of each pairs are compared with the words comprised in the optimized test image. The comparison results in one or more matching labels and then a masking area is calculated for each matching label. The masking string is generated for each matching label based on the calculated masking area and the original text is masked with the generated string.
