Abstract: In a backlight device, lamp units including cold cathode-ray tubes (straight-tube lamp portions) and inverter circuits (driving circuits) for driving to switch on the cold cathode-ray tubes are arranged along a direction that is substantial perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the cold cathode-ray tubes. Further, the inverter circuits of the lamp units are disposed separately on one end portion side and other end portion side in the longitudinal direction of the cold cathode-ray tubes. Thereby, even when using the longitudinal cold cathode-ray tubes, brightness on a light emitting surface can be made uniform.

  • Patent number: 7522159
Abstract: A small-sized, light-weight display device having an audio output circuit is provided. A display device of the present invention has a flat speaker and an audio signal processing device is constructed from thin film semiconductor elements, typically, thin film transistors, on the display device. The speaker is driven by BTL driving, thereby reducing the power supply voltage and preventing degradation of the thin film transistors. A display device with a built-in audio signal processing circuit is thus reduced in size and weight.

  • Patent number: 7520592
Abstract: An electrostatic attraction fluid jet device of the present invention is so arranged that a nozzle (4) is formed so as to correspond to a meniscus equivalent to a tip portion in the form of a taylor cone formed in a process of an electrostatic attraction of ink (2) as a conventional fluid. A diameter of an ink-ejecting hole (4b) of the nozzle (4) is set to be substantially the same as a diameter of the tip portion, which is about to be ejected, of the meniscus (14) of ink. Moreover, the diameter of the ink-ejecting hole (4b) of the nozzle (4) is set to be equal to or less than a droplet diameter of the ink (2) which has just been ejected. Therefore, it is possible to provide an electrostatic attraction fluid jet device which can realize a recording device which has high resolution, is safe and is highly versatile.

  • Patent number: 7522127
Abstract: Out of two display pixels connected to the same gate line G2, a display pixel (A) is connected to a source line S2, and a display pixel (B) is connected to a source line S3, which is adjacent to the source line S2 and forms a parasitic capacitance with a pixel electrode of the display pixel (A). A write signal for a display pixel (A) is obtained by correcting an input signal for the display pixel (A) in accordance with an input signal for a display pixel (B) or a write signal for the display pixel (B). With this arrangement, it is possible to reduce crosstalk between the two display pixels in a display device, such as a liquid crystal display device, that drives display pixels through a plurality of source lines and a plurality of gate lines.

  • Patent number: 7520504
Abstract: A paper processing device includes a processing unit, a paper ejection roller, a sorting mechanism, a paper overlapping mechanism, and a control unit. The processing unit performs predetermined processing upon sheets of paper being conveyed one at a time along a paper conveyance direction. The roller discharges the sheets in the paper conveyance direction, after completion of processing by the processing unit. The sorting mechanism shifts the roller to and fro between an initial position and a sorting position in a direction orthogonal to the paper conveyance direction. The overlapping mechanism superimposes, between the processing unit and the roller in the paper conveyance direction, a predetermined number of sheets of paper upon which processing has been completed. The control unit superimposes a predetermined number of sheets of paper by operating the overlapping mechanism, before shifting the roller from the initial position to the sorting position with the sorting mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7522140
Abstract: While image data is written into either one of first, second, third frame memories 1, 2 and 3, image data are repetitively read two times from the remaining two memories in one vertical synchronization interval and transferred to an arithmetic unit 4, and this operation is executed with the frame memories changed sequentially. An arithmetic unit 4 refers to a look-up table on the basis of two inputted data values and, when the data value of the current image signal is greater than the data value of the previous image signal, the unit 4 transfers image data of a value greater than the data value of the current image signal to a liquid crystal display device 5. Thus, the step response characteristic is improved for the improvement of the dynamic image display quality.
