Abstract: A new IC package 12 is designed as follows. That is, a circuit block 2 is omitted from an existing IC package 11 including a package 11a having a circuit block 1 and the circuit block 2 which are connected to a plurality of terminals including high-frequency terminals, but the position of a high-frequency terminal connected to the circuit block 1 is never changed. Carried out next is omission of a portion 6, which is associated with the circuit block 2, of the package 11a. This makes it possible to provide (i) a method for designing a small IC package, and (ii) a method for manufacturing the IC package. With the methods, time required for the designing and adjustment of the designing can be shortened.

Abstract: When audio dubbing is implemented, error correction is performed for each ECC block. Therefore, even when one byte of data in an ECC block is rewritten, the whole ECC block to which the byte belongs needs to be read and rewritten. When audio dubbing data is scattered in ECC blocks, almost all ECC blocks, or all the data needs be rewritten in order to record audio dubbing data. By constructing ECC blocks including audio dubbing data so as not to contain original data, it is no longer necessary to read and rewrite unnecessary original data when audio dubbing data is overwritten.
Abstract: When a request for a change in output information and output order of, or cancellation of an output process of, image data obtained from computers 3 is made by a user, a print server apparatus 1 notifies other users of requested change content and obtains from each user an instruction indicating whether to permit a change process based on the notified change content or not. With this image processing apparatus, when a plurality of users make requests for output processes of respective image data and a change in output order of each image data or the like is requested, other users can confirm the change content and get to other work appropriately so as to enhance the work efficiency.

Abstract: An insulating resin layer 50 is formed on a surface of a conductor portion 2 by performing a plating pretreatment to the conductor portion 2 that has been formed on a surface of a wiring board substrate 1, and forming numerous dendrites 3 on the surface of the conductor portion 2 using an electroplating or chemical plating method. The insulating resin layer 50 is then formed by stacking an insulating resin plate 50 that has a semi-cured adhesive layer 40 formed thereon in advance on the conductor portion 2 and the dendrites 3, and then applying pressure and raising temperature for laminate bonding.
Abstract: A backlight unit includes a fluorescent lamp to illuminate a liquid crystal panel, a reflection unit for causing the light from the fluorescent lamp to exit toward a certain direction, and a diffusion unit for diffusing the light from the fluorescent lamp and reflection unit, and reflectance or transmittance in the horizontal and vertical directions is controlled by applying a dot pattern that gradually increases densities from the central portion toward the peripheral portion to the reflection unit or diffusion unit, or by applying a dot pattern that gradually increased densities from the central portion toward the both ends in the longitudinal direction on the surface of the fluorescent tube of the fluorescent lamp. By doing this, brightness gradient is formed in the horizontal and vertical directions so that the brightness in the central portion of the liquid crystal panel is relatively higher than the brightness of the peripheral portion thereof.
Abstract: A document size sensor is disposed on a document feed path at a location between a document tray and a juncture and on the front side in the primary scanning direction perpendicular to a document feed direction. The document size sensor is located between a sheet edge position for B4-size document sheet and a sheet edge position for A 4 -size document sheet, which are situated on the front side in the primary scanning direction. The document size sensor detects A3 - and B 4 -size document sheets but does not detect A 4 - or B5-size document sheet. Based on a detection signal from the document size sensor, judgment is made as to whether a document sheet fed from the document tray is a larger-sized document sheet or a smaller-sized document sheet.

Abstract: In the semiconductor storage device, in a read operation, a bit line charging/discharging section 101 performs discharge of bit lines of a memory cell array 100, and a counter counts discharge periods over which the potentials of bit lines come to a specified potential, based on a comparison result of a comparator comparing a potential of a bit line with a reference potential. Based on the comparison result, a reference value generation section 104 generates a reference value (RCi) for determining information stored in each of the memory cells. The above count value (CBUSi) and the above reference value (RCi) are compared with each other by a data decision circuit 108. Based on the comparison result, an output data control circuit 109 outputs information stored in each of the memory cells. This semiconductor storage device suppresses increases in chip area and power consumption and outputs memory cell information accurately.
