Abstract: The gate bus lines, the data bus lines, TFTs, etc. are formed on one glass substrate. Also, linear structures arranged in parallel with the gate bus lines are formed simultaneously with any one of the gate bus lines and the data bus lines. Then, a positive resist film is formed over the substrate, and then only a surface layer is cured by irradiating the ultraviolet ray onto the resist film. Then, the annealing is applied to the resist film. Since the linear structures are present under the resist film, a cross section of the resist film is corrugated by the annealing and thus wrinkle-like roughness extending in the almost same direction as the structures are formed on the surface. Then, the reflective electrode is formed on the resist film.
Abstract: An image recording system is provided which includes two image recording apparatuses that can independently record images and can sequentially start up the two image recording apparatuses one by one rather than starting up at the same time. A bypass transporting path apparatus is disposed on a color image recording apparatus and a transporting path connecting apparatus is disposed between a front portion of a monochrome image recording apparatus and a rear portion of the color image recording apparatus. This system includes a start-up controlling portion that performs control such that after any one image recording apparatus is started up and put into a recordable state, the other image recording apparatus is started up and put into a recordable state.

Abstract: A mobile terminal of the present invention have a personal authentication function and a communication function for bi-directionally communicating with a communication base station. The mobile terminal includes a personal authentication information storing section, an identity information inputting section for inputting identity information of a current user, a personal authentication section which checks authenticity of the inputted identity information, and an informing section which transmits the result of the check of the authenticity of the identity information to the communication base station.
Abstract: With the reduced size of a solid state imaging device, the invention provides: a solid state imaging device of a chip size and having good environmental durability; a semiconductor wafer used for fabricating a solid state imaging device; an optical device module incorporating a solid state imaging device; a method of solid state imaging device fabrication; and a method of optical device module fabrication. The solid state imaging device comprises: a solid state image pickup device formed on a semiconductor substrate; a light-transparent cover arranged opposite to an effective pixel region, so as to protect (the surface of) the effective pixel region formed in one surface of the solid state image pickup device against external environment; and an adhering section formed outside the effective pixel region in the one surface of the solid state image pickup device, so as to adhere the light-transparent cover and the solid state image pickup device.
Abstract: A paper press member 240 configured to be capable of advancing and retracting with respect to a paper guide 220 is provided between a paper feed roller 234 and the front end in the paper feed direction of paper loaded in a manual feed tray 230. When a plurality of sheets of paper enter into the press-contact section between the paper feed roller 234 and a reverse roller 235, the reverse roller 235 is rotated in the reverse direction to retract the sheet on the reverse roller side to the manual feed tray 230. At this time, by causing the paper press member 240 to project from the upper surface of the paper guide 220, the sheet to be retracted and the paper press member 240 come into contact with each other, so that the travel amount of the sheet when retracting the sheet is reduced.
Abstract: In a television, a single screen is split into a plurality of split-screens, and content displayed is different for each of the split-screens. In the television, the content selecting section selects content assigned in advance with each of the split-screens. A display section displays the content thus selected, on a corresponding one of the split-screens in a display. For example, a first split-screen displays a television program while a second split-screen displays a web page containing information on the television program. When a screen mode (pattern of split-screen) is changed, content corresponding to the screen modes is selected again and displayed. By the foregoing way, the content is displayed in a state suitable for respective split-screens.
Abstract: An optical device directs light from a light source to a region of space, such as the field of view of a camera when the optical device is used as a camera flash unit. This device includes a first optical element which converges light from the light source towards an inner portion of the region to be illuminated and a second optical element which diverges part of the light from the first element outwardly towards an outer portion of the region to be illuminated so as to achieve adequate central illumination with improved uniformity of illumination across the region to be illuminated. The second optical element may have a concave multiple-faceted surface comprising plane facets in the shape of an open-base inverted truncated pyramid, contiguous sector-shaped facets, at least some of which are concave, or a face divided into an elongate portion disposed between first and second diverging portions.
Abstract: The present invention allows a crystalline photovoltaic module having a super straight type structure in which a light-receiving surface side-sealing EVA layer 2, a photovoltaic cell matrix 3, a back surface side-sealing EVA layer 4 and a back surface-sealing weatherproof film 5 are laminated sequentially in this order on a light-receiving glass 1 and these components are formed into an integral piece to be reused after it has been used in the market for a long time by extending the lifetime of the photovoltaic module. The regeneration method includes peeling the back surface-sealing weatherproof film 5, laminating a new back surface side-sealing EVA layer 8 and a new back surface-sealing weatherproof film 9 in a portion in which the film has been peeled, and then curing for crosslinking the new back surface side-sealing EVA layer 8 that is laminated.
Abstract: In the present invention, a matrix display area for displaying m×n elements arranged in matrix form and a graph display area for displaying a graph image are set on an identical display screen. The m×n statistics between m variates belonging to a first data group and n variates belonging to a second data group are computed and displayed as matrix elements arranged in n rows and m columns in the matrix display area. A graph image representing a relation between two variates, one of which belongs to the first data group and the other of which belongs to the second data group, and corresponding to one matrix element specified by the matrix element specification section, is formed and displayed in the graph display area on the display screen.
Abstract: In order to provide a driving device that can be made more compact and shorter in height, a driving mechanism of a driving device according to the present invention includes: a flex movement member 1 that exhibits flex movement when excited by electronic control, and a first fixing member 14 for fixing a part of the flex movement member 1, both ends of which sandwich the part fixed by the fixing member 14 and bend. A first elastic member 12 and a second elastic member 22 are connected to the both ends of the flex movement member 1. The flex movement of the both ends of the flex movement member 1 causes distortion or bending in the first elastic member 12 and the second elastic member 22, so that a first frictional member 12 and a second frictional member 23 each serving as a contact section in contact with a lens barrel 5 move in a direction different from the flex movement direction of the both ends of the flex movement member 1. Thus, the lens barrel 5 is driven.

Abstract: A data transmission system is provided that enables a user to move away before the completion of data transmission regardless of whether a refund is made in association with occurrence of a communication error when a data transmitting apparatus performs data transmission and collects a consideration. The data transmitting apparatus includes a consideration receiving portion that receives a consideration of FAX data transmission, a report destination input portion that inputs a report destination of a user, and a FAX transmission error detecting portion that detects a communication error at the time of the FAX data transmission. In case the FAX transmission error detecting portion detects a communication error, the system including the data transmitting apparatus transmits refund information for refunding the consideration of the FAX data transmission with the communication error to the report destination input through the report destination input portion.

A filter (160) is placed in a suction-side channel between the rotary drum (5) and the blower and on an upstream side of air flow produced by the blower (131) in a drying process. The filter (160) is placed so as to be soaked in water supplied into the water tank in a washing process or in a rinsing process.

After adjusting the automatic gain control at least a fifth and a sixth symbol of the data unit is received. Abstract: A sheet transport apparatus of the present invention is arranged so that a first eject tray is located at a position to which sheets are ejectable in such a manner that front and back surfaces of the sheets are not reversed after the sheets are subjected to predetermined processing. Abstract: A method for extending bit-depth of display systems. The method includes creating pseudo-random noise from human visual system noise. When applied to the image data, the noise causes spatiotemporal dithering. The pseudo-random noise is combined with image data, producing noise-compensated image data. The noise-compensated image data is them quantized.
Abstract: The invention provides an electrophotographic photoreceptor capable of producing high quality images even when development is carried out under low electric potential conditions, and also provides an image forming device incorporating such an electrophotographic photoreceptor. In a photosensitive layer 14 of a photoreceptor 1, the mobility of electric charges is 2×10?6 cm2/(V·s) or greater at an electric field intensity E of 1×105 V/cm. Further, the slope ?in equation 1 representing the mobility of electric charges is 5×10?4 or less in an electric field range of 5×104<E<1×105.
Abstract: A toner for electrostatic image development, which contains toner particles in which not more than 13 percent by number of the toner particles have a particle diameter of smaller than 4 ?m, not less than 20 percent by number of the toner particles have a particle diameter of 4 ?m to 6 ?m, and not more than 2.0 percent by volume of the toner particles have a particle diameter of 16 ?m or greater.
