Patent number: 7382383Abstract: A noise adding circuit adds noise data to video data, and a circuit rounds a less significant bit, so as to output video data of 6 bits from 8 bit input data for example. The video data of 6 bits is stored in a frame memory until a further next frame, and a previous frame grayscale correction circuit corrects video data of a previous frame as required so that the video data of the previous frame approaches video data of a further previous frame. It then outputs thus corrected video data. Further, a modulation processing section corrects video data of a current frame so as to emphasize grayscale transition from the video data of the previous frame which is outputted by the previous frame grayscale correction circuit. Thus, it is possible to realize a driving device of an image display device, which can improve a response speed of pixels and has a simple arrangement, without apparently deteriorating display quality of an image displayed in the pixels.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2004Date of Patent: June 3, 2008Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Makoto Shiomi, Tomoo Furukawa, Koichi Miyachi, Kazunari Tomizawa

Publication number: 20080124121Abstract: An image recording apparatus includes a first pullout unit, a second pullout unit, and a first lock mechanism. The first unit is movable along a first axis between a first retracted position where the first unit is fully retracted in the apparatus, and a first exposed position where at least one side surface thereof is fully exposed to the front of the apparatus. The second unit is movable along a second axis, which is perpendicular to the first axis, between a second retracted position where the second unit is fully retracted in the first unit, and a second exposed position where the second unit is exposed to a side of the side surface of the first unit. The first lock mechanism prevents movement of the second unit from the second retracted position to the second exposed position when the first unit is not in the first exposed position.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 25, 2007Publication date: May 29, 2008Applicant: SHARP KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Toshihiko Seike, Toshiki Takiguchi, Junya Masuda, Hiroyuki Murai

Publication number: 20080123127Abstract: The present invention prevents a third party's unauthorized use by rendering a image processing apparatus having a security function undistinguishable from an image processing apparatus without a security function. In a copy mode, the image processing apparatus reads image data of a copy and stores inputted image data in a hard disk drive. The image processing apparatus prints the image data. Once the printing is finished, the image data is erased by operation of the security function. In this case, a disguise section makes a disguise to look as if the security function is not provided by not indicating that the image data is being erased on an operation screen.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 8, 2007Publication date: May 29, 2008Applicant: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Yuji Okamoto, Naofumi Ueda, Tsutomu Yoshimoto, Syoichiro Yoshiura

Publication number: 20080123198Abstract: A lens member (55) is made to adhere to a lead frame (36) via a transparent adhesive resin (41) and is not transfer molded with a sealing body (37). With this arrangement, the transparent adhesive resin (41) can be used as a member for buffering a thermal stress due to a linear expansion coefficient difference between the lead frame (36) and the lens member (55). By using a resin of a low Young's modulus such as a silicon based resin, the damage and deformation of the lens member (55) can be prevented by largely reducing the thermal stress exerted on the lens member (55). Furthermore, the linear expansion coefficient can be reduced by adding filler to the sealing body (37), and the optical coupler can be used under an environment of a wide temperature range of, for example, ?40° C. to 115° C.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 13, 2006Publication date: May 29, 2008Applicant: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Hideaki Fujita

Publication number: 20080124123Abstract: Ions generated by the ion generating section are discharged from a paper sheet conveyer belt nozzle and an intermediate transfer belt nozzle, so that (i) a toner image transferred from a photosensitive drum onto an intermediate transfer belt and having yet to be transferred from the intermediate transfer belt onto a recording paper sheet and (ii) a paper sheet conveyer belt are charged. This makes it possible to more appropriately transfer a toner image onto a recording paper sheet from a photosensitive drum in an image forming apparatus, including a conveyer belt for conveying a recording paper sheet, in which a toner image formed on an image carrier is transferred onto an intermediate transfer body and the toner image is transferred from the intermediate transfer body onto a recording material; and to simultaneously prevent an increase in size of the image forming apparatus.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 2, 2007Publication date: May 29, 2008Applicant: SHARP KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventor: Yoshiaki MASUDA

Publication number: 20080122772Abstract: A segmented-pixel liquid crystal display has a plurality of pixels of which each has three sub-pixels 10a-10c, namely one middle and two side sub-pixels, arranged next to one another in the column or row direction. The sub-pixels 10a-10c have different brightness levels when the pixel as a whole is in a given middle halftone state, and the middle sub-pixel 10a has the highest brightness level. This eliminates unnaturalness as is conventionally produced when an image with a straight border is displayed, and further improves the gamma characteristic.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 4, 2005Publication date: May 29, 2008Applicant: SHARP KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Masanori Takeuchi, Tomokazu Ohtsubo, Toshihide Tsubata

Publication number: 20080122778Abstract: A drive control circuit supplies a gate voltage so that display quality is not degraded even in a case where a vertical scanning frequency or a horizontal scanning frequency is changed. The circuit includes a timing controller for detecting a change of a horizontal scanning frequency, a gate voltage generating circuit for generating two kinds of gate-on voltages Va and Vb (Va<Vb), and a switch for outputting one of the gate-on voltages Va and Vb from the gate voltage generating circuit in accordance with an output of the timing controller. The timing controller includes a counter for counting the number of clocks for one horizontal period, and a comparator for comparing a count result with a threshold value.
