  • Patent number: 6082388
Abstract: The device comprises a safety valve with an actuator which can be armed manually, a regulation valve disposed in a duct downstream of the safety valve for supplying a main burner, a tapping duct for supplying a pilot burner, and a flame detector for the pilot burner for supplying the actuator of the safety valve with sufficient energy to hold the safety valve open after manual arming has taken place and the pilot light has been lit. In order also to supply another burner without compromising the safety of the device, an on/off valve provided in a duct branching off the main duct between the safety valve and the regulation valve has an operating member coupled to the manual arming member of the actuator of the safety valve for keeping the on/off valve in a condition in which it shuts off the branch duct during the manual arming of the safety-valve actuator.

  • Patent number: 6029770
Abstract: A sound damping element contains an inner wall and an outer wall, between which a cavity filled with absorption material is present, which are joined to one another. At longitudinal edges of the element, bent-away profile portions are disposed so that a junction with a similarly configured adjacent sound damping element can be made. The sound damping element is to be improved such that, with low production and material cost, a seal for preventing gas from passing through the element is achieved. Easy manipulation in assembly is possible, and the individual sound damping elements can be joined together without problems and, if necessary, separated from one another. At least one profile portion has a section such that at least a portion of a chamber is formed. At least in the portion of this chamber, a sealing element is disposed. Sealing is accomplished by this sealing element with respect to the adjacent second sound damping element.

  • Patent number: 6003544
Abstract: A valve unit comprises a single electromagnetic actuator for controlling both an ON-OFF valve for cutting off the gas and a modulation valve; the latter is subject to independent resilient loads for regulating the minimum pressure delivered and for regulating the pressure up to the maximum pressure at the modulation stage.

  • Patent number: 5607294
Abstract: A device for automatically controlling the operation of a burner comprises an electric control unit which controls the ignition and the flame of the burner and which opens a normally-closed solenoid valve disposed in a first fuel-supply line to the burner, and a pilot burner for the burner supplied by manually-operable second regulation and safety valve means operatively associated with the control unit and disposed in a second fuel-supply line to the burner, the second valve means being openable manually and being kept open by a current I generated by a thermocouple in the presence of a flame of the pilot burner when the control unit is de-activated and advantageously being closable by the control unit against the action of the current I when the control unit is activated.

  • Patent number: 5098089
Abstract: A computer-controlled exercise sit up machine has a frame supporting a bed on which a user may rest his or her body, knee support posts for resting the user's knees, and foot rest support posts for receiving the user's feet and ankles. The exercise sit up machine has a triangular-shaped housing which acts as a fulcrum for pivoting the frame about a transverse axis so that the bed is inclined to a position where the user performs sit ups with the head at a higher vertical level than the feet. A computer controls a motor housed in the triangular-shaped housing for pivoting the frame about the fulcrum. The user may select a desired sit up routine. The computer then operates the machine through the chosen sit up routine and calculates and displays a sit up coefficient score to apprise the user of his or her performance.

  • Patent number: 5088610
Abstract: So as to avoid installing a heavy remote handling machine in a containment comprising a lifting unit, such as a travelling crane, the present invention proposes an autonomous remote handling machine (20) suitable for being suspended from the hook (b 16) of this crane. This machine (20) includes a support (22), a gripping arm (24) and a counterweight (26) being joined to said support around a normally horizontal axis (26). A device (44) detects any possible slanting of the support (22) with respect to vertical in order to control any modification of the orientation of the counterweight (26), independently of the orientation of the arm, so as to annul any detected slanting.

  • Patent number: 4747238
Abstract: Portable terrace installation with seats, including one or more sections, each section comprising a pair of sloping joists and a number of upright seating beam pillars connected to the sloping joists. A corresponding number of parallel and horizontal seating beams connected to the pillars are provided and extend between opposite beam pillars on the pair of joists. Each seating beam has opposite ends and has a height which is greater than its width. A flat floor surface extends between the seating beams and is connected to the joists, and a number of free standing trestles are provided for supporting the joists. A first connecting element is provided on the side of the beam pillar facing the seating beam, with the first connecting element extending essentially vertically along that side.

  • Patent number: 4687122
Abstract: A combination seat cushion and liquid container has a self-bleeding bung dispensing valve positioned in a single bung hole of the container for dispensing liquid from the container while bleeding air into the container. The valve structure includes an air bleed valve and a liquid drain valve, both of which open simultaneously upon the depression of a button in the bung hole and which automatically close simultaneously upon release of the pressure on the button.

  • Patent number: 4670916
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved system for dispensing deodorant, disinfectant and cleaning materials into or around a toilet bowl and, particularly, to a U-shaped bracket for mounting a dispensing container onto the rim of the toilet bowl. The U-shaped bracket comprises a cross member which fits transversely over the top of the rim, a pair of depending legs, one of which has a means to hold a dispensing container and a pair of arms on the cross member which engage the underside of the toilet seat and support the seat without transmitting any turning or twisting motion to the bracket. One of the arms extends over the valve on the dispensing container and actuates the valve to dispense material when the toilet seat moves in a vertical direction.
