  • Patent number: 9020289
Abstract: An image processing apparatus is configured for compressing image data by combining spatial frequency conversion, quantization, and entropy coding. The apparatus includes a block division section, a spatial frequency conversion section, a quantization section, an encoding section, and a selection section. The encoding section generates code data by performing the entropy coding for each of a plurality of change candidate values. The values include a value of quantized data in a pixel block after performing the spatial frequency conversion and peripheral values within a predetermined range. The selection section selects a change value of the quantized data from the plurality of change candidate values based on a size of the code data of each of the plurality of change candidate values, and sets the code data corresponding to the selected change value as the code data.

  • Patent number: 9019330
Abstract: Optical scanning device includes as follows. Light emitting element emits light beam in First direction and Second direction. Mirror unit reflects light beam emitted in First direction. First light receiving element receives light beam reflected by Mirror unit. Reference signal generator generates BD signal based on signal output from First light receiving element. Second light receiving element receives light beam emitted in Second direction. Light quantity controller measures signal output from Second light receiving element and automatically controls the light quantity of light beam emitted during APC period. Light quantity controller starts the automatic control at a timing at which light beam reflected by Mirror unit passes through the position of Second light receiving element and is received by First light receiving element and completes the automatic control before light beam reflected by Mirror unit reaches the position of Second light receiving element next.

Abstract: A fixing device includes a fixing member, a pressuring member, a heat source, a heat conducting member, a reflecting member and a contacting/separating mechanism. The fixing member is arranged rotatably. The pressuring member is arranged at an external diameter side of the fixing member to come into pressure contact with the fixing member so as to form a fixing nip, and arranged rotatably. The heat source is arranged at an internal diameter side of the fixing member to emit radiant heat. The heat conducting member comes into contact with an inner circumference face of the fixing member to absorb the radiant heat emitted from the heat source and to conduct it to the fixing member. The reflecting member reflects the radiant heat emitted from the heat source toward the heat conducting member. The contacting/separating mechanism makes the heat conducting member and reflecting member come into contact with/separate from each other.
