  • Publication number: 20170081202
Abstract: A process is disclosed for recovering cyanide used to leach gold or silver from ore. In the course of leaching gold or silver from ore, a barren solution is generated. A portion of the barren solution containing sodium cyanide is recycled to the cyanidation process while blowdown from the barren solution is subjected to pre-treatment, UV photodissociation and pH adjustment. Ultimately, a volatile hydrocyanic acid is formed and is absorbed into a sodium hydroxide solution through the employment of a gas-filled membrane. This forms sodium cyanide that can be recycled and used in the cyanidation process to leach gold or silver from ore.

  • Patent number: 9597658
Abstract: A novel metal-organic framework (MOF) templated process for the synthesis of highly porous inorganic sorbents for removing radionuclides, actinides, and heavy metals is disclosed. The highly porous nature of the MOFs leads to highly porous inorganic sorbents (such as oxides, phosphates, sulfides, etc) with accessible surface binding sites that are suitable for removing radionuclides from high level nuclear wastes, extracting uranium from acid mine drainage and seawater, and sequestering heavy metals from waste streams. In some cases, MOFs can be directly used for removing these metal ions as MOFs are converted to highly porous inorganic sorbents in situ.

  • Patent number: 9602060
Abstract: An RF power amplifier circuit and input power limiter circuits are disclosed. A power detector generates a voltage output proportional to a power level of an input signal. There is a directional coupler with a first port connected to a transmit signal input, a second port connected to the input matching network, and a third port connected to the power detector. A first power amplifier stage with an input is connected to the input matching network and an output is connected to the transmit signal output. A control circuit connected to the power detector generates a gain reduction signal based upon a comparison of the voltage output from the power detector to predefined voltage levels corresponding to specific power levels of the input signal. Overall gain of the RF power amplifier circuit is reduced based upon the gain reduction signal that adjusts the configurations of the circuit components.
