Abstract: A child resistant container comprising a tray and a cover is provided. The tray comprises a plurality of tray compartments arranged radially around a centrally disposed tray hub. Each tray compartment defines a cavity for holding one or more articles. The container is a “dial pack” type container, meaning the tray can be rotated with respect to the cover to expose each cavity in turn.

In a closed position, the clamp plates move the heat plate into contact with the heater platen and a lock mechanism engages the heater assembly to retain the heat plate lock assembly in the closed position.

Abstract: The invention includes a child resistant package having a first panel and at least two second panels joined to the first panel. The first and second panels are in different planes, in an embodiment. The package includes a peelable flap portion covering an access point into the package, wherein the peelable flap portion has at least one tab continuous therewith. The at least one tab is disposed on one of the second panels and the access point is disposed in the first panel. In an embodiment, at least one decoy tab is also disposed on one of the second panels.

Abstract: The invention comprises a package for reactive materials comprising a panel defining a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and at least two side edges. The panel comprises at least one film layer, an adhesive adjacent the film layer, wherein the adhesive is pattern applied such that it is disposed within an interior region of the film layer and wherein a perimeter of the film layer is adhesive-free adjacent each of the first end, second end, and side edges, and a release liner comprising a substrate layer and a cured silicone layer. The release liner is adhered to the film layer via the adhesive, the substrate layer of the release liner is disposed adjacent the film layer, and a perimeter of the release liner is smaller than the perimeter of the film structure. In an embodiment, the panel comprises a tubular body and the side edges are sealed together to form a fin seal, the first end is sealed closed to form an end seal, and the second end is sealed closed to form an end seal.
Abstract: A core for winding sheet material is proved. The core comprises a cylindrical tube having a longitudinally oriented slot formed therein, and a strip of soft material located in the slot. Because of the geometry of the slot and the strip, the strip may be softer in the central region but firmer where the core transitions from the relatively soft strip to the relatively hard tube. The leading edge of the sheet material imbeds itself into the soft central region of the strip as additional layers are wound around the core.
Abstract: A container includes a metal end applied and sealed to an all-thermoplastic container body by a crimp-seaming or double-seaming operation. The metal end has an outer curl joined to a chuck wall that extends down from the curl. One or both of the inner surface of the container side wall and the outer surface of the chuck wall has/have a heat-sealable material thereon. The metal end is crimp-seamed or double-seamed to the container body and the heat-sealable material(s) are heated to soften or melt such that the interface between the chuck wall and the side wall is fused. The interface is oriented along a direction relative to internal pressure exerted on the metal end such that stress on the interface caused by the internal pressure is predominantly shear stress.
Abstract: A method of making a container having a tamper evident feature. The method comprises affixing a tamper evident tag to a bottom end so that the tag covers perforations in the bottom end. The tag may be a film-based tag incorporating a color shifting ink layer. When the container is opened, air enters the interior of the container, passes through the perforations and activates the color shifting ink layer.
