Abstract: A system for determining a characteristic of a laser includes a collection housing receiving a laser beam comprising a first pulse, a second pulse and a time period between the first pulse and the second pulse. A photon counting detector receives photons from the laser beam disposed to generate photon signals from the laser beam and generating a start signal. A fast diode generates a stop signal to provide a time reference of counted photons ns. A controller is coupled to the photon counting detector and the fast diode. The controller counts photons from the photon counting detector occurring during the time period between the first and second pulse and generates a first output signal corresponding to a power during the time period between the first pulse and the second pulse.

  • Publication number: 20210242415
Abstract: A sensor including a layer of amorphous selenium (a-Se) and at least one charge blocking layer is formed by depositing the charge blocking layer over a substrate prior to depositing the amorphous selenium, enabling the charge blocking layer to be formed at elevated temperatures. Such process is not limited by the crystallization temperature of a-Se, resulting in the formation of an efficient charge blocking layer, which enables improved signal amplification of the resulting device. The sensor can be fabricated by forming first and second amorphous selenium layers over separate substrates, and then fusing the a-Se layers at a relatively low temperature.

  • Publication number: 20210239653
Abstract: A method of detecting sub-surface voids in a sample comprises positioning a probe adjacent to a first point on the sample, emitting an ultrasonic wave from the probe towards the sample, moving the probe towards the sample, measuring a shear force amplitude of a reflection of the ultrasonic wave at the probe as the probe moves towards the sample, creating an approach curve by plotting the measured shear force amplitude of the reflection of the ultrasonic wave as a function of a distance between the probe and the sample, and determining whether a sub-surface void exists at the first point on the sample based on a slope of the approach curve.

  • Patent number: 11082125
Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein relate to systems and methods for an intelligent autonomous decision making module that maximizes the return of the most scientifically relevant dataset over the low bandwidth for experts to analyze further. A rule based knowledge extraction methodology is disclosed, guided by expert knowledge for all scientifically relevant geological landforms with respect to expert selected attributes. The datasets are subsequently prioritized based on how novel the instances are with respect to its rule and is used to update the rules. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is then determined by evaluating how acceptable the prioritization order is to experts and explaining the decisions to increase the interpretability of the assigned priority.

  • Patent number: 11077304
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for delivering neurostimulation therapies to patients for treating chronic heart failure. A neural fulcrum zone is identified and ongoing neurostimulation therapy is delivered within the neural fulcrum zone. This neural fulcrum zone corresponds to a combination of stimulation parameters at which autonomic engagement is achieved, while the tachycardia-inducing stimulation effects are offset by the bradycardia-inducing effects, thereby minimizing side effects such as significant heart rate changes while providing a therapeutic level of stimulation.

  • Publication number: 20210230444
Abstract: Polymer composite photonic crystal materials are disclosed as coatings and topcoats which have high reflection (>30%) in a specific range of the electromagnetic spectrum, such as ultraviolet (<400 nm), visible (Vis, 400 nm-700 nm), or near-infrared radiation range (NIR, 700-2000 nm), and relatively low reflection (<20% reflection) in a second, different range of the electromagnetic spectrum.
