Patent number: 4964445Abstract: An apparatus for filling a liquid friction pump with a liquid comprises a metering pump and plug connector means for connection to the liquid friction coupling. During a testing of the filling ratio of the liquid friction pump it may be necessary not only to supply viscous liquid to said coupling but also to withdraw viscous liquid from such coupling. For that purpose the plug connector means are preceded by a manifold, which communicates with two nonreturn valves, which normally prevent a flow of liquid from said manifold through said valves. A discharge line from the metering pump communicates with a first of said nonreturn valves. The second nonreturn valve is incorporated in a return line leading from said manifold to a reservoir, from which the metering pump is adapted to suck liquid. Said second nonreturn valve is adapted to be opened preferably by the application of pneumatic pressure for a flow in said return line from said manifold through said second valve to said reservoir.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 1989Date of Patent: October 23, 1990Assignee: Steyr-Daimler-Puch AGInventor: Gottfried Weinberger

Patent number: 4949493Abstract: A firearm comprises a chamber member, which is separate from the barrel and defines a chamber and which in a firing block, which is fixed to the receiver, is reciprocable between a firing position and a loading position in a direction which is transverse to the longitudinal direction of the barrel. When the chamber member is in its loading position its chamber is freely accessible and at one end communicates through a loading opening of the firing block with the interior of a magazine holder and at the other end communicates through an ejection opening of the firing block with an ejection shaft. For the performance of the loading and unloading operation, a slider is provided, which is movable in the longitudinal direction of the barrel and carries a feeder, which is movable from a first end position, in which the feeder is disposed on that side of the magazine holder which is opposite to the firing block, past said magazine holder toward the firing block as far as into the loading opening of said block.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 1989Date of Patent: August 21, 1990Assignee: Steyr-Daimler-Puch AGInventor: Ulrich Zedrosser

Patent number: 4942951Abstract: A liquid-friction coupling comprises a liquid-containing housing, a shaft, which coaxially protrudes into the housing, and the interdigitating sets of inner and outer blades, which are axially slidably mounted on the shaft and in the housing, respectively, and are non-rotatably connected thereto. Annular spreading springs are disposed between adjacent inner blades or adjacent outer blades. The distance between adjacent inner and outer blades can be changed by means of an annular piston, which is operable from the outside of the housing. To permit control of the liquid friction coupling within wide limits, the annular piston has a planar inner end face, which extends close to the blades and substantially throughout the cross-section of the interior of the housing. When the piston is in its outermost position the liquid contained in the housing is not in excess of 60% of the liquid capacity of the housing. The liquid has a viscosity of at least 30,000 centistokes.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 1989Date of Patent: July 24, 1990Assignee: Steyr-Daimler-Puch AGInventors: August Kriebernegg, Heribert Lanzer, Peier Othmar
