  • Patent number: 9756464
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining a location area of a user using a mobile communication terminal in a geographical area covered by a mobile radio network. Antenna probabilities, corresponding to a plurality of antennas located in the geographical area, may be determined for a plurality of sub-areas of the geographical area. The antenna probabilities may be determined based on expected field strengths for the plurality of antennas in each of the plurality of sub-areas, and may indicate for each particular antenna, in each of the plurality of sub-areas, the probability that a mobile communication terminal uses that particular antenna when located in that sub-area. The location area for the user may be determined based on the antenna probabilities and determination of one or more antennas used by the mobile communication termination the user is using, without requiring measuring signal properties at the particular mobile communication terminal.

  • Patent number: 9743094
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for image processing. A plurality of correlation parameters representing degrees of correlation between two or more images of a plurality of images may be determined. An optimized correlation dependency graph may be generated according to the plurality of correlation parameters. The plurality of images may then be delta encoded according to the optimized correlation dependency graph. For example, the optimized correlation dependency graph may be used for performing a predetermined correlation encoding operation. The plurality of correlation parameters may be determined, for example, in accordance with one or more predetermined correlation metrics associated with the predetermined correlation encoding operation.

  • Patent number: 9740847
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for authentication in electronic devices using multi-level security schemes. In an electronic device, at each particular level of a plurality of security levels of a multi-level security scheme, one or more identifiers associated with the particular level may be read from a user-specific card; and for each identifier of the one or more identifiers, associated data for use in validating the identifier may be read from the user-specific card. The identifier may then be authenticated within the electronic device, using the associated data; or may be forwarded, based on the associated data, to a particular remote server for verification of the identifier. Each identifier may comprise one of: user identifier, operator identifier, and application identifier. An application associated with each identifier may be identified, and the application may be executed after a positive authentication of the identifier.

  • Patent number: 9665819
Abstract: A SIM card in plug-in format with an integrated SIM card in mini format is disclosed which has electrical contacts for an electrical connection to contacts on a mobile device. The SIM card comprises punched cutouts adjacent to the integrated mini SIM card, with the integrated mini SIM card being connected to the rest of the plug-in SIM card only by some connecting points. This means that the mini SIM card is affixed detachably. In this regard, the punched cutouts and the connecting points are arranged such that the integrated mini SIM card can be detached from the rest of the plug-in card. The punched cutouts may be cut out at edges around the integrated mini SIM card at the points at which the electrical contacts of the mobile device can slide over when the SIM card is inserted into the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 9634779
Abstract: A system and method are provided for enabling a plurality of media feeds, such as internet radio stations, to be played through a standard media player, such as a radio receiving device, using the tuning or input selection controls of the media player to control the selection of which media feed to play. Identification signatures are added to channels and transmitted to the media player by transmitter. A controller captures the feedback of the media player and, if it detects one of the signature signals in the feedback, instructs the media feed selector to select a media feed which corresponds to the detected identification signature. The selected audio feed may then be transmitted to the media player on the corresponding channel for playback.

  • Patent number: 9596598
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for reducing detectability of encryption keys, which may be used to encrypt messages transmitted in a network (e.g., between a base station and a mobile station, such as over the air). Random bit errors may be introduced into the messages to artificially lowering transmission quality, thus makes it harder to detect the encryption key from well-known messages. The random bit errors may be introduced by inverting one or more randomly selected bits in the encrypted message prior to transmitting.

  • Patent number: 9513363
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for determining signal source probabilities. Signal source probabilities, for a plurality of sub-areas of a geographic area covered by a plurality of signal sources, may be determined. For each one of the plurality of sub-areas, the signal source probabilities may be determined based on probable field strengths of the plurality of signal sources for the one of the plurality of sub-areas, and the signal source probabilities for that one of the plurality of sub-areas indicate the probability that a mobile device, located in that one of the plurality of sub-areas, is operable to detect a particular signal source for communicating. Determining signal source probabilities may comprise calculating expected field strengths in the plurality of sub-areas. Determining signal source probabilities may comprise obtaining power information indicating a detected power of respective signals received by the mobile device from multiple transmitters.
