  • Patent number: 10545489
Abstract: Techniques for determining device-specific information such as commissioning data, location information, images, and other data descriptive of a process device installed in a plant include obtaining the device-specific information at a local device during the process device's commissioning. Based on this information, the local device determines the relative order of the process device within a process flow, and may determine a process element alignment map indicating the activation order of a plurality of process elements within the flow. A user may modify the map at the local device. The map is transmitted to a process control big data network for use in discovery and learning analytics. The device-specific information and/or the map may be utilized to generate, at the local device, representations/views of the process flow, which may include real-time operational data. A user may zoom in or out on these views for more or less detail.

  • Patent number: 10546039
Abstract: A computing system includes a server for generating a custom color scheme for a web application. The server determines a source set of colors to be used in the custom color scheme, determines color separation distances between colors in the source set of colors, and a target set of colors in the web application. The server determines the different color position permutations that the colors in the target set of colors can be replaced with the colors in the source set of colors. For each color position permutation, deltas between the color separation distances in the replaced colors and the color separation distances in the source set of colors are determined. One of the color position permutations to be used as the custom color scheme for the web application is selected based on the deltas being minimized with respect to the deltas for the other color position permutations.

  • Patent number: 10545866
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved approach to implement training for memory technologies, where a data valid window is re-determined using boundary information for a new data valid window. The information obtained for the new location of the first edge is used to minimize the computational resources required to identify the location of the second edge. This greatly improves the efficiency of the process to perform the re-training.

  • Publication number: 20200027570
Abstract: The invention is for a startup system for nuclear fusion engines in space. The combustion of hydrogen and oxygen produces heat that is used by a heat engine to produce electricity. This can be supplemented by electricity from other operating engines. The exhaust from the combustion is condensed and electrolyzed to produce hydrogen and oxygen once the engine is in operation. This provides a constant source of energy for future startups. The engine is started up at partial power in electricity generation mode and this power replaces the power from the combustion as it grows. The combustor uses the same heat engine as the nuclear engine uses for power generation.

  • Publication number: 20200023826
Abstract: An electronic parking brake (EPB) system having expanded functionality, such that after a Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU) (i.e., host) commands the parking brake units to release clamping force on the brake discs, a pressure differential is generated in the rear calipers. When the normally closed valves at the HECU are opened, fluid is transferred to a low-pressure accumulator, transferring the brake fluid from the housing of the caliper. A pump is then activated to further draw fluid from the accumulator and the caliper, transferring the fluid back to the master cylinder. The suction created by the activation of the pump moves the caliper piston towards the housing and the brake pad away from the brake disc, and achieving the desired air gap.

  • Patent number: 10538855
Abstract: Provided are cleaning methods and systems to remove unintended metallic deposits from electroplating apparatuses using reverse current deplating techniques. Such cleaning involves positioning a cleaning (deplating) disk in an electroplating cup similar to a regular processed substrate. The front surface of the cleaning disk includes a corrosion resistant conductive material to form electrical connections to deposits on the cup's surfaces. The disk is sealed in the cup and submerged into a plating solution. A reverse current is then applied to the front conductive surface of the disk to initiate deplating of the deposits. Sealing compression in the cup may change during cleaning to cause different deformation of the lip seal and to form new electrical connections to the deposits. The proposed cleaning may be applied to remove deposits formed during electroplating of alloys, in particular, tin-silver alloys widely used for semiconductor and wafer level packaging.

  • Patent number: 10541894
Abstract: A method for assessing perceived quality of adaptive media streaming includes receiving, by a device including a processor, a stream of adaptive media content. This stream includes both audio signals and video signals. A number of quality change events in the received stream for a predetermined period of time is determined. Also, a difference value between a highest quality level value detected in the received stream for the predetermined period of time and a lowest quality level value detected in the received stream for the predetermined period of time is determined. A quality impact score value is generated for the received stream based on the determined number of quality change events and based on the determined quality level difference value.

  • Patent number: 10540671
Abstract: A system that automatically detects references to items like products or brands within messages and replaces those references with referral links to web pages associated with those items. Links may be inserted into a message, such as a text message or email, at a messaging gateway without any action on the part of the sender (or receiver) of a message. Senders or receivers may opt out of or into the link insertion service. The system provides privacy and security because personal information identifying the sender or receiver is not passed to the link insertion service. When the recipient of a message clicks an inserted link and performs a transaction, a referral credit is given to the communication intermediary, and also potentially to the message sender or recipient. The system may analyze modifiers in the message to construct a link to a specific product or service at a website.
