  • Patent number: 4689676
Abstract: A television video signal synchronizing apparatus, which synchronizes an input television video signal to a reference timing mark. The input video signal is digitized and stored in a memory at locations which are provided by a writing address generator. The writing operation is performed in synchronism with the input video signal. A reading address generator produces reading addresses for reading out the stored video signal to deliver an output television signal which is synchronized to the reference timing mark. The reading address generator is controlled to read out an active video portion of the stored video signal after a delay of about one horizontal scanning period (63.5 microseconds in the NTSC system) immediately after the writing operation of the same active video portion. Thereby "lip lag" i.e. a mismatch between the audio and video signals, is avoided.

  • Patent number: 4681265
Abstract: A material-directing chute is slidably mounted on a hopper and is interposed between a discharge port in the hopper and a rotary impeller. The position of the chute is controlled by a handle-mounted lever. By shifting the chute to a relatively advanced position, a peripheral portion of a material-receiving drop area on the impeller is shifted radially inwardly from the peripheral edge of the impeller. Accordingly, a material distribution pattern may be provided which avoids areas such as gardens, shrubbery and driveways on one lateral side of the spreader. In addition, a chute-activated damper is provided to impede the flow of material when the chute is in the relatively advanced position.

  • Patent number: 4669391
Abstract: Novel highway trailers can be mounted on railtruck assemblies to form a train of highway trailers, the railtruck assemblies including a conventional railtruck which supports a novel intermodal adaptor. The novel highway trailers include a forwardly extending tongue and coupling structure at the rear to which may be secured the tongue of a following trailer and the intermodal adaptor of a railtruck assembly. The intermodal adaptor is mounted on the center plate bowl of the bolster of the railtruck. The adaptor includes locating structure adapted to be received within the coupling structure of a leading highway trailer, which locating structure permits the leading highway trailer and intermodal adaptor to become aligned with each other upon relative movement.

  • Patent number: 4661436
Abstract: A positive photoresist metal ion aqueous developer is provided that gives a high contrast to the photoresist. The developer disclosed comprises a formulation of aqueous alkali-base such as potassium hydroxide and a fluorocarbon surfactant. The incorporation of the fluorocarbon surfactant provides the unexpected increase in the contrast of the photoresist. The addition of the fluorocarbon surfactant increases the gamma from a typical photoresist gamma (.gamma.) of 3 or less to a gamma greater than 10.The high contrast photoresist provides linewidth control and affords improved process latitude in photoresist imaging. The linewidth control is particularly critical in cases where fine lines are to be defined in the resist that covers steps or topography on the coated substrate. The higher the contrast, the less affected the resist by the topography, provided the exposure is adequate to expose the resist.

  • Patent number: 4627569
Abstract: A pneumatic controller for use in controlling airflow in a conditioned air distribution system is adjustable to accommodate different types of damper actuation and thermostats in different systems. The four-function controller can be manually reconfigured to be a direct acting/direct reset controller, a reverse acting/reverse reset controller, a direct action/reverse reset controller or a reverse acting/directing resent controller, all using a single diaphragm valve responsive to differential pressure between total air and static air inputs. A reset unit on one end of the controller can be mounted in four different positions, two upright and two inverted, to provide the four functions, with total air and static air inputs being reversed in position when the controller is in a reverse acting mode. A differential pressure responsive valve at the heart of the system is controlled by a spring which can act as either a tension spring, for direct acting, or as a compression spring, for reverse acting.
