Abstract: A ground-based vectored thrust system for landings and take-off of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft. The vectored thrust system provides an upward thrust on the VTOL aircraft when in proximity to the pad. The upward thrust can supplement the thrust system of the VTOL aircraft, or can be used exclusively to elevate the VTOL aircraft. A control unit can control one or more of the components of the vectored thrust system. The control unit can also be configured to take-over the flight of the VTOL aircraft when it is within a predetermined flight envelope of the pad.
Abstract: Embodiments protect a computer application from being exploited by an attacker, while the application code is executed by a speculative execution engine having vulnerabilities. Embodiments are directed to systems that, prior to execution of the application by a speculative execution engine, locate a sequence of instructions of the application in which the speculative execution engine executes the instructions out of sequence. For example, the sequence of instructions may be an “if-then” code block. The systems determine a disposition that forces the speculative execution engine to execute the instructions in sequence. For example, the disposition may be adding a fence instruction to the sequence of instructions. During execution of the application code by the speculative execution engine, the systems change the sequence of instructions based on the disposition. The systems execute the changed sequence of instructions in place of the located sequence of instructions to prevent an attack on the application.
Abstract: A computerized method for utilizing private Internet Protocol (IP) addressing for communications between components of one or more public cloud networks. The method features determining whether outbound traffic corresponds to a first type of outbound traffic being forwarded from a cloud instance supported by the gateway. In response to determining that the first type of outbound traffic is being forwarded from the cloud instance, the first type of outbound traffic is directed via a data interface of the gateway. Also, the method features determining whether the outbound traffic corresponds to a second type of outbound traffic being initiated by logic within the gateway. In response to determining that the second type of outbound traffic is being initiated by logic within the gateway, directing the second type of outbound traffic via a management interface of the gateway.

Abstract: An illustrative data storage management system comprises a management database that stores administrative preferences and system configurations, as well as results and/or statistics of completed secondary storage operations, i.e., information needed by the system to protect customers' data and to track and recover the protected data, including secondary copies such as backup copies, archive copies, etc. The disclosed data storage management system is configured to protect its own system data subject to a very aggressive (short) Recovery Point Objective (RPO), by using an innovative infrastructure that enables the system's storage manager to fail over to any number of other failover destination storage managers, each one comprising a destination management database. An illustrative database granularly tracks whether each and every transaction log file has been successfully applied to each and every destination management database to synchronize with the source management database.

The adjusted frequency may be a target frequency or a range of frequencies. Also included may be a preload sensor. When a preload is sensed, the frequency may be adjusted by the function generator until the pick current induces a resulting vibration of said latch system sufficient to free a preloaded latch or keeper.
