Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to systems and methods for improving the training of machine learning systems to recognize certain objects within a given image by supplementing an existing sparse set of real-world training images with a comparatively dense set of realistic training images. Embodiments may create such a dense set of realistic training images by training a machine learning translator with a convolutional autoencoder to translate a dense set of synthetic images of an object into more realistic training images. Embodiments may also create a dense set of realistic training images by training a generative adversarial network (“GAN”) to create realistic training images from a combination of the existing sparse set of real-world training images and either Gaussian noise, translated images, or synthetic images.

  • Patent number: 10572445
Abstract: A system and method for migrating data objects based on portions of the data objects is described. The system may transfer portions of files, folders, and other data objects from primary storage to secondary storage based on certain criteria, such as time-based criteria, age-based criteria, and so on. An increment may be one or more blocks of a data object, or one or more chunks of a data object, or other segments that combine to form or store a data object. For example, the system identifies one or more blocks of a data object that satisfy a certain criteria, and migrates the identified blocks. The system may determine that a certain number of blocks of a file have not been modified or called by a file system in a certain time period, and migrate these blocks to secondary storage.

  • Patent number: 10571038
Abstract: A breakaway coupling includes a body and a valve assembly inside the body. The body includes a fluid conduit and a shear groove between first and second portions. The shear groove is designed to crack, break, or separate under certain conditions. The valve assembly is designed to shut off fluid flow through the fluid conduit when the shear groove cracks, breaks, or separates. The valve assembly includes a valve seat, a sealing element, one or more pins, and a biasing member. The one or more pins hold the sealing element in an open position while the shear groove is in tack, and allow the sealing element to move to a closed position (with the help of the biasing member) in the event the shear groove cracks, breaks, or separates.

  • Patent number: 10572230
Abstract: An efficient state-machine-based pattern matching technique processes tokens in an input queue and identifies patterns in the sequence of tokens that match one or more predetermined input patterns without backtracking. Tokens can include data or no data and a time component. The tokens can be a stream of data generated by a sensor, which transforms a physical property into a digital quantity. The pattern matching technique processes the input queue in a single direction, and does not examine any previously examined token. In an implementation, specific patterns to be matched are specified using a state machine, where the state machine is specified in a state table and operates using a state stack.

  • Patent number: 10572468
Abstract: The disclosed systems and methods enable a virtual machine, including any applications executing thereon, to quickly start executing and servicing users based on pre-staged data blocks supplied from a backup copy in secondary storage. Substantially concurrently with the ongoing execution of the virtual machine, a virtual-machine-file-relocation operation may move data blocks originating in the backup copy to a primary storage destination that becomes the virtual machine's primary data store after the relocation operation completes. An enhanced data agent, operating in conjunction with an enhanced media agent in a storage management system, coordinates restoring of the virtual machine and the launch of the relocation operation. The enhanced media agent may pre-stage certain backed up data blocks which may be needed to launch the virtual machine, based on predictive analysis pertaining to the virtual machine's operational profile.

  • Patent number: 10573450
Abstract: A novel and useful degauss circuit for use with electromagnetic door locks. The door lock circuit is configured to provide a constant current to the electromagnetic coil load. A pulse width modulation (PWM) controller varies the frequency and/or duty cycle to a switch in series with the coil. Coil current feedback is used to adjust the PWM frequency and/or duty cycle so as to maintain the current through the coil at a certain level to maintain a desired holding force on the door lock. A degauss circuit inline with the current flowing through the coil is provided. When triggered either in an uncontrolled or controlled manner, a series RLC circuit that includes the coil inductance and resistance causes ringing to occur whereby the coil current reverses direction with sufficient amplitude and duration to degauss the coil.

  • Patent number: 10572124
Abstract: Methods and systems for bound based contextual zoom are disclosed. Legacy WINDOWS desktop and web applications were designed for a mouse or other high-precision pointing device, and as such, small controls and closely grouped controls/icons were commonly designed/used on the screen. Interacting with such applications remoted to a touch-based device (e.g., a smartphone or tablet) is difficult. Bound based contextual zoom overcomes at least some of these limitations by permitting a user to zoom in on an area of interest within an application or desktop, and for a period of time long enough to complete the touch interaction. The area zoomed might be a group of controls on a ribbon bar, the minimize/maximize/close buttons in the top-right corner of a window, a group of form input controls, or any other natural cluster of related user interface (UI) elements.
