  • Patent number: 10552294
Abstract: A method and system for communicating with IoT devices to gather information related to device failure or error(s) is disclosed. The system receives log files from an IoT device (e.g., a smart refrigerator) that recently failed. The system determines which log files the IoT device created before and/or after a failure. After gathering this information, the system stores the information in a database, sends it to the IoT device manufacturer, or sends it to a cloud provider. The system can also send the failure-related information to the IoT device-related entities (e.g., IoT device manufacturers), and the entity uses this information to troubleshoot the failure and send a fix or software update to the IoT device.

  • Patent number: 10550464
Abstract: A circular PVD chamber has a plurality of sputtering targets mounted on a top wall of the chamber. A pallet in the chamber is coupled to a motor for rotating the pallet about its center axis. The pallet has a diameter less than the diameter of the circular chamber. The pallet is also shiftable in an XY direction to move the center of the pallet beneath any of the targets so all areas of a workpiece supported by the pallet can be positioned directly below any one of the targets. A scanning magnet is in back of each target and is moved, via a programmed controller, to only be above portions of the workpiece so that no sputtered material is wasted. For depositing a material onto small workpieces, a cooling backside gas volume is created between the pallet and the underside of sticky tape supporting the workpieces.

  • Patent number: 10554074
Abstract: A load shed module configured to be connected in series between a power supply and a load is disclosed. A separate load shed module is connected in series between each load and the power supply. The load shed module determines the frequency of the voltage supplied from the power supply. Based on the frequency, the load shed module determines if utility power is connected or if a generator is connected. If the generator is connected and the frequency of the voltage goes outside of a desired operating range for a preset time, the load shed module disconnects the load from the power supply. Each load shed module includes a priority setting and reconnects its corresponding load after a predetermined time corresponding to the priority setting.

  • Patent number: 10552058
Abstract: Processing functions are offloaded to a memory controller for nonvolatile memory by a host in connection with write data. The nonvolatile memory executes these functions, producing processed data that must be written into memory; for example, the offloaded functions can include erasure coding, with the nonvolatile memory controller generating redundancy information that must be written into memory. The memory controller holds this information in internal RAM and then later writes this information into nonvolatile memory according to dynamically determined write time and/or destinations selected by the host, so as to not collide with host data access requests. In one embodiment, the memory is NAND flash memory and the memory controller is a cooperative memory controller that permits the host to schedule concurrent operations in respective, configurable virtual block devices which have been configured by the host out of a pool of structural flash memory structures managed by the memory controller.

  • Patent number: 10552130
Abstract: A method of providing by a code optimization service an optimized version of a code unit to a managed runtime environment is disclosed. Information related to one or more runtime conditions associated with the managed runtime environment that is executing in a different process than that of the code optimization service is obtained, wherein the one or more runtime conditions are subject to change during the execution of the code unit. The optimized version of the code unit and a corresponding set of one or more speculative assumptions are provided to the managed runtime environment, wherein the optimized version of the code unit produces the same logical results as the code unit unless at least one of the set of one or more speculative assumptions is not true, wherein the set of one or more speculative assumptions are based on the information related to the one or more runtime conditions.

  • Patent number: 10549035
Abstract: An intrathecal delivery system for a pharmaceutical includes a reservoir containing a volume of the pharmaceutical agent, and a pump configured to deliver a portion of the pharmaceutical agent contained in the reservoir. A controller is configured to receive biological cycle information pertaining to a biological cycle (e.g., cardiac cycle), and configured, based on the received biological cycle information, to control the pump to deliver the pharmaceutical agent into a patient's intrathecal space as a high-speed bolus at a time corresponding to a time determined based on Processing the biological cycle information. The high-speed bolus may be delivered at a rate of 10-100 ?L per second. The timing of such delivery corresponds to a time within the biological cycle when cerebrospinal fluid flow is optimal for intrathecal delivery of the pharmaceutical agent. Conditions for which treatment is enhanced by the intrathecal delivery system include refractory hypertension, spasticity and chronic pain management.

  • Patent number: 10552085
Abstract: A host stores “context” metadata for logical block addresses (LBAs) in a manner tied to physical location. Notwithstanding log-structured or copy on write processes, the host is then provided with immediate context when the host is called upon to assist a memory controller with data identified by physical location, for example, for memory reconfiguration, garbage collection, wear leveling or other processes. The metadata for example can provide the host with insight as to which data may be moved to enhance performance optimization and where that data can be placed. In one embodiment, the host writes back one or more references that span multiple layers of indirection in concert with write of the underlying data; in another embodiment, the context can point to other metadata.

  • Patent number: 10555059
Abstract: A bracket assembly is used to secure a housing to a support structure such as a post, wall or ceiling. The bracket assembly includes an inner bracket, an outer bracket and a connector. The inner bracket is configured to be mounted on the support structure separately from the outer bracket, and the outer bracket is configured to be quickly mounted on the inner bracket. The outer bracket and connector are joined by a ball and socket joint. Angular adjustment of the ball relative to the socket is made prior to mounting of the outer bracket on the inner bracket, and the desired orientation is maintained using a clamping assembly. The bracket assembly includes sealing features that prevent moisture from entering the assembly.

  • Patent number: 10552960
Abstract: A system and method of displaying of multiple simultaneous views of a same region of a biological tissue sample. Logical instructions are executed by a processor to perform operations such as receiving a plurality of images of the biological tissue sample, converting the plurality of images to a common reference frame based on the individual metadata of each image, and arranging the plurality of images into a display pattern for simultaneous viewing of different aspects of the imaged biological tissue sample on a display screen. The plurality of images is produced by preprocessing images of the biological tissue sample. Each image shows a view mode of a same region of the biological tissue sample, and each image contains metadata that describe spatial orientation, such as the translation, rotation, and magnification, of the image to bring the plurality of images to a common view.
