Patent number: 10181376Abstract: An Electron-coupled transformer for generating a high voltage output pulse as an amplified version of an input pulse includes a cylindrical triode electron tube with a central anode along main axis and a grid and cathode radially spaced from the anode. The anode has a first end directly grounded and a second end insulated from a direction connection to ground. The cathode and the grid form a traveling wave electron gun that produces, when the grid is grounded through a phase matching network, a radially symmetrical collapsing traveling wave of ground potential in the Transverse Electromagnetic mode. The foregoing wave of ground potential causes a beam of electrons to flow from the cathode to the anode and causes a voltage output pulse to be produced on the second end of the anode, whose magnitude is an amplified version of the input pulse that is injected into the cathode.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 2015Date of Patent: January 15, 2019Assignee: Advanced Fusion Systems LLCInventor: Curtis A. Patent number: 10179339Abstract: A bubbler assembly including a pipe that telescopes relative to a surface of a pool or spa such that an exit opening of the bubbler is closer to the water surface than is conventionally possible. When in the initial position, a first end of the telescoping pipe is flush or substantially flush with the surface of the pool or the spa. When in the extended position, the first end of the telescoping pipe is adjacent the water surface, which is spaced apart from the surface of the pool or spa. By transferring the exit opening of the bubbler to a location adjacent the water surface, the plume need travel only a small distance through the main body of water before penetrating the water surface.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 2016Date of Patent: January 15, 2019Assignee: Zodiac Pool Systems LLCInventors: Roy Archer, Joseph A. Publication number: 20190012928Abstract: A system and method for improving safety when operating an aircraft in reduced or modified visibility conditions is disclosed. A flight helmet having a visor with an electrically controlled optical state is configured to automatically move the visor up out of the pilot's line of sight on receipt of a signal from a safety sensor. This sensor-based automated moving of the visor helps alleviate danger in circumstances where the visor is improperly hindering the pilot. The helmet can be used, for example, in reduced-visibility training sessions and thereby improve the safety of such sessions. And the helmet can be used with enhanced or synthetic vision systems as a failsafe if the systems are hindering rather than helping the pilot.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 10, 2018Publication date: January 10, 2019Applicant: AT Systems, LLCInventors: Andre Gilles Lavallee, Steven Tyson Phillips, Evan Thomas Pratt

Patent number: 10178035Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for quality of service over broadband networks. A network device performs a probe transaction over a tunnel of a broadband network. Based on the probe transaction, parameters are determined reflecting tunnel performance, and, based on the parameters, target transmit and receive rates are determined for data communications over the tunnel. Based on the target transmit and receive rates, data communications to and from a first node of the network are regulated. When the tunnel comprises a peered tunnel, the regulation of received data communications comprises performing a set rate transaction with a peer second node of the network (the set rate transaction establishes a rate for data transmitted over the tunnel by the peer second node to the first node). When the tunnel comprises a peerless tunnel, the regulation of received data communications comprises shaping data traffic received by the first node over the tunnel.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 2017Date of Patent: January 8, 2019Assignee: Hughes Network Systems, LLCInventor: Douglas Dillon
