Abstract: Devices and methods for addressing permeation of a gas through a liner of a pressure vessel involve a porous layer between the liner and a composite shell of the pressure vessel around the liner. The porous layer provides fluid communication with atmosphere for gases that permeate through the liner. Such porous layers may be provided in a continuous wound set of fibers about the liner. Further, an inner composite structure may be provided between the liner and the porous layer to reduce the rate of permeation to the porous layer.
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing failover control in a control system are provided. For instance, a data stream from a plurality of computing nodes in a computing system can be monitored. A first subset of computing nodes can be selected based on the data streams. Control grant signals can be generated for each computing node of the first subset. An output to one or more computing nodes of the first subset can be activated based at least in part on a number of control grant signals generated for each computing node of the first subset. Control authority can then be granted to the one or more computing nodes of the first subset.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing trajectory amendments are provided. In one embodiment, a method can include identifying an arrival time slot associated with a landing area. The method can further include providing to one or more second computing devices of a plurality of operators, a first set of data identifying the arrival time slot. The method can include receiving a second set of data indicating that a first operator of the plurality of operators has selected the arrival time slot. The method can further include determining one or more trajectory amendments to allow a first aircraft associated with the first operator to meet the arrival time slot associated with the landing area. The method can include sending one or more trajectory amendments.
Abstract: A device, system and method to support the ends of composite pressurized storage vessel, including supporting two ends of a cylindrical composite pressurized storage vessel with an axial rod/tube fixed axially inside the storage vessel fixed at each end; and providing a fluid pathway into the vessel from at least one of the two ends which is not obstructed by the axial rod/tubing.
Abstract: A system and method for automatically delivering a substance to an animal or fish including a positioning system that positions each animal singularly and a sensor that detects the location of a predetermined targeted area on the animal. The system further includes a delivery device for delivering a substance to the targeted area. The position of the delivery device may be adjustable. The delivery device is in communication with the sensor. The delivery device adjusts its position in response to the data received from the sensor and delivers a substance to the targeted area.
Abstract: A turbofan engine having a turbine engine, a nacelle surrounding a portion of the turbine engine, and a thrust reverser. The thrust reverser comprises a movable control surface movable to and from a reversing position and a thrust reverser actuation system having at least one actuator operably coupled to the movable control surface to move the movable control surface into and out of the reversing position. A guide comprising a rail and a bogie having at least one rotatable bearing surface coupled to the rail for relative translational movement between the rail and bogie connects the turbine engine to the movable control surface such that operation of the at least one actuator moves the movable control surface by translation movement between the rail and the bogie.

Abstract: A method and system include monitoring to detect a crossing of a first geographic boundary and monitoring to detect a crossing of a second geographic boundary. When a crossing of the first geographic boundary and a crossing of the second geographic boundary are detected in succession, a first barrier system response is initiated. In some examples, when a crossing of the third geographic boundary and a crossing of the second geographic boundary are detected in succession, a second barrier system response is initiated.
Abstract: An apparatus for extracting an oil from plant material includes an extraction chamber for plant material. The plant material is exposed to a heated gas stream with a temperature sufficient to volatilize on oil from the plant material. The gas stream is rapidly cooled to liquefy the oil into entrained droplets. The oil is collected with a collection solvent.
Abstract: A twist-lock connector that includes a printed circuit board component with one or more flexible portions is disclosed. The flexible portions may be formed within an interior portion of the printed circuit board by routing or otherwise removing a portion of the printed circuit board to create one or a plurality of side for each flexible portion. One or more electrical contacts may be positioned on each flexible portion and arranged to be electrically coupled with male electrical contacts that are part of a corresponding twist-lock plug, thereby deflecting the flexible portions. When deflected, the flexible portions exert an opposing, biasing force in the direction of the male electrical contacts to maintain contact there between. One or more of a mounting base and a support base may be clamped to either or both sides of the printed circuit board to provide further stability for the flexible portions.
Abstract: A method for reporting backlog in a LTE-like environment is disclosed. The method includes: providing a pending allocation for transferring a pending request data; receiving a new request for transferring data prior to completion of transferring the pending request data; generating a backlog report for the new request; sending the backlog report within the pending allocation; and receiving a new allocation for the new request data.
Abstract: A packet is received from a first link, and includes identification of a sender and a destination. An acknowledgement of receiving the packet is transmitted toward the sender, and the packet is forwarded, over a second link, toward the destination. A copy of the packet is stored in a queue. Upon detecting that the destination failed to receive the packet forwarded over the second link, the copy of the packet is retrieved from the queue and re-transmitted over the second link to the destination.
