Abstract: Systems and methods for processing textual messages which are integrated with one or more digital attachments is described. These systems and methods are useful in the electronic filing and processing of, for example, image data, and of textual data associated with the image data. One particular application of these systems and methods would be for the electronic filing and processing of dental x-rays with patient claim forms.
Abstract: A system carried by a vehicle for computing tolls that interfaces with vehicle data entry and display components. The system uses these components to display toll-related information and to accept user input for toll-related information. The system may also incorporate vehicle sensors including seat occupancy sensors, infra-red sensors and cameras to determine vehicle occupancy for tolling purposes.
Abstract: A switch conversion apparatus including an interface device, a mounting plate configured to mount to a toggle switch and including at least one aperture for receiving a toggle arm of a toggle switch, and an actuator plate configured to slidably engage the mounting plate and including at least one aperture for receiving and engaging a toggle arm of a toggle switch when engaged by the interface device so as to transition the state of the switch. Other embodiments of a switch conversion apparatus include one or more mechanical, electrical, and/or pneumatic timers.
Abstract: A controller for a parking brake system for a commercial vehicle is disclosed. The controller receives a signal indicative of a request to park a tractor, a signal indicative of a request to supply air to a trailer and a signal indicative of a vehicle operating condition. The controller transmits a control signal to a tractor parking brake device and a trailer air supply device in order to park the tractor and maintain the air supply to the trailer to suspend the parking of the trailer in response to the signals.

Abstract: A computer for a communications terminal includes a memory and a processor. The computer is programmed to identify a spectrum analysis test triggering event. The computer specifies a set of test parameters that include a test frequency range. The computer further sets a receiver to receive sequentially a plurality of signals. Each signal is received in one of a plurality of frequency bands within the frequency range. The computer measures, via the receiver, at least one characteristic of the signal received in each frequency band.
Abstract: Methods and structures of photodetectors are described. The structure may include a readout integrated circuit substrate having an internally integrated capacitor. The structure may additionally include an external capacitor overlying the readout integrated circuit substrate. The external capacitor may be coupled with the internally integrated capacitor of the readout integrated circuit substrate, and configured to operate in parallel with the internally integrated capacitor of the readout integrated circuit substrate. The structure may also include a detector overlying the external capacitor.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a centripetal air or gas cleaning apparatus for removing particulates from air or gas. The apparatus comprises an inlet, housing, impeller, a clean air outlet, and a particulate outlet. The housing has an inner conical surface. The impeller's rotation creates negative pressure towards the inlet that intakes particulate-pervaded air or gas into the housing. The rotation also induces an accelerating force that throws the particulate-pervaded air or gas against the outer walls of the housing. Here, the particulates separate from the air or gas, penetrate a high-pressure zone, and are ejected through the particulate outlet located in the high-pressure zone. The air or gas, having less inertia, deflects away from the high-pressure zone where it is then subjected to a centripetal force that drives the air or gas towards the center of the housing behind the impeller where it is ejected through the clean air outlet.

Abstract: A system and computer implemented method for optimizing network topology in a network comprises a memory unit to store a set of program modules and a processor to execute the set of program modules. A connection detection module is configured to identify a set of network endpoints connected to a network host via Ethernet connections. Further, an input module identifies at least one datagram among the plurality of datagrams received from the network endpoints. The at least one datagram is received from at least one network interface among the plurality of network interfaces. The input module classifies the at least one network interface into at least one of a compute node and a storage node. An optimizer module optimizes the network host, to function with the at least one network interface in one of a first mode, a second mode, and a third mode.
Abstract: A device for controlling a directional motion indicator includes a motion detector transmitting a directional motion signal based on a movement and a direction of the movement of the motion detector. A controller includes a controller input port receiving the directional motion signal. The controller determines a backward movement of the motion detector based on the directional motion signal. The controller transmits a motion indicator signal, via a controller output port, based on the determined backward movement of the motion detector.
Abstract: Systems and methods for the design and use of a System-in-Package (SiP) device with a connection layout for minimizing a system Printed Circuit Board (PCB) using the SiP are provided.
Abstract: Methods and systems for reducing the number of, and values of, passive components, such as capacitors, in System-in-Package devices below vendor recommendations for an active component are provided.
Abstract: A high pressure fluid system including enhanced safety, maintenance and servicing features. The system can include a cartridge assembly module, having a valve seat assembly and a seal cartridge assembly selectively joinable with one another and installable within the high pressure fluid system.
Abstract: A system and method are provided for hybrid electric internal combustion engine applications. A motor-generator, a narrow switchable coupling and a torque transfer unit are arranged in the constrained environment at the front of an engine. The motor-generator is preferably laterally offset from the switchable coupling, which is co-axially-arranged with the engine crankshaft. The switchable coupling is an integrated unit in which a crankshaft vibration damper, an engine accessory drive pulley and a disengageable clutch overlap such that the axial depth of the clutch-pulley-damper unit is nearly the same as a conventional belt drive pulley and engine damper. The front end motor-generator system includes an electrical energy store that receives electrical energy generated when the coupling is engaged.
