  • Publication number: 20110263750
Abstract: The present invention relates to a tyre having a tread comprising a rubber composition that comprises at least: as a first diene elastomer, between 5 and 25 phr of a styrene-nitrile-butadiene terpolymer (SNBR) having a nitrile monomer content between 4 and 18% by weight; a second diene elastomer other than SNBR; a reinforcing filler; a liquid plasticizer, the glass transition temperature of which is below ?20° C. The invention makes it possible to improve the properties of rolling resistance and of grip on wet ground of tire treads.

  • Patent number: 8042878
Abstract: Interface disc for a vehicle wheel, comprising: at least one substantially central attachment element designed to allow the said disc to be attached to a wheel; a plurality of substantially radial arms connected to the attachment elements and extending radially outwards from a substantially central portion of the said disc as far as a substantially peripheral portion of the said disc; an energy absorption surface collaborating with the said arms and configured to form a wall between the said substantially central portion of the disc and its substantially peripheral portion; at least one circumferential reinforcing element collaborating with the said arms and the modulus of which is substantially higher than that of the energy absorption element.

  • Patent number: 8046132
Abstract: A vehicle steering control system includes a controller for determining control angles for actuators used for steering the vehicle based on at least a speed of the vehicle and a steering signal. The controller includes a unit, a module, and a block. The unit determines an equivalent steering angle of a steered wheel of an equivalent bicycle model according to the steering signal, and also determines a transverse coordinate of an instantaneous center of rotation of the vehicle. The module controls a steering behaviour of the vehicle to enable a longitudinal coordinate of the instantaneous center of rotation of the vehicle to be determined from the speed of the vehicle and a maximum transverse acceleration parameter of the vehicle. The block determines the control angles from the longitudinal coordinate and the transverse coordinate. The maximum transverse acceleration parameter of the vehicle is fixed for the vehicle or is variable based on conditions of operation of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20110252862
Abstract: In a method for alerting to the wear of a tyre that includes a tread strip equipped with at least one circumferential groove, the running noise made by the tyre running along a ground is measured, from the measured running noise, a noise emitted in a predetermined range of frequencies close to a predetermined resonant frequency of a portion of the circumferential groove during running is isolated, the amplitude of the isolated noise is measured, and the measured amplitude is compared against a predetermined alert threshold.
