Abstract: A safety valve for a fluid circuit under pressure (P), the valve comprising a body (2), a piston (3) able to move with respect to the body between a closed position and a purge position. A thermally deformable element (5) acts to cause the piston to move from the closed position to the purge position above and beyond a purge temperature so as to connect the circuit to a discharge duct (16). The valve further comprises an overpressure relief device sensitive to the pressure of the fluid and configured to connect the circuit to the discharge duct when the pressure (P) of the circuit reaches a trip pressure.

Abstract: A system for estimating the maximal grip coefficient ? in the contact area of a tire on a road. A tire tread is fitted with at least one tread sensor for measuring at least the tangential stresses which the tread experiences locally when the tire rolls on the ground. A signal processing unit and means for transmitting to the processing unit at least one signal delivered by the tread sensor are provided. The processing unit comprises means for finding in the signal the values corresponding to the sensor passing through the contact area of the tire on the ground, means for calculating an instantaneous value of a preselected criterion as a function of a series of values chosen from those relating to the sensor passing through the contact area, and means for extracting an estimate of the maximal grip coefficient ? by using the said instantaneous value.
Abstract: A tyre is described that includes a casing designed to be inflated to a service pressure and equipped to accept a functional object, such as an electronic circuit, for example, by means of a two-part fastener 10, such as a touch-close fastener, for example. A first part of the fastener is attached to a wall of the casing, while the second part can be joined to the first part when placed in contact with the first part to attach and keep the object on the casing when the tyre is in service. The first part of the fastener includes a thin backing fixed to the wall of the casing and possessing a structural elongation capacity greater than or equal to that of the wall to which the thin backing is fixed. The presence of the thin backing does not significantly hinder the elongation of the wall of the casing when subjected to the stresses encountered during use of the tyre and, where relevant, during its manufacture.

Abstract: A locking ring for a ring for mounting on a hub of a vehicle, the mounting ring being intended to receive a bead of a tire in an assembly for mounting the tire on the hub of a vehicle. The locking ring comprises a polymeric envelope and an incompressible reinforcing element, the two elements being separable.
Abstract: A tire comprising sidewalls joining a crown part to beads that are intended to come into contact with a mounting rim, these sidewalls comprising a carcass reinforcement anchored in each bead to at least one bead wire and having an end in each bead, the bead wire having, seen in meridian cross-section, an outer profile comprising two profile parts, a first part radially to the inside of axial width L, extending between an axially innermost point and an axially outermost part, and a second part radially to the outside between said points. Each bead comprises at least one additional coupling reinforcement in contact with the carcass reinforcement.
Abstract: Rubber composition based on at least one diene elastomer, a polymeric filler as reinforcing filler and a coupling agent for bonding between the polymeric filler and the elastomer. The polymeric filler includes nanoparticles of a polyvinylaromatic (PVAr) carrying a functional group denoted by Z of formula a ?Si—X, X representing a hydroxyl or hydrolyzable group. The PVAr is especially a copolymer of styrene, ethylvinylbenzene, divinylbenzene and trimethoxysilylpropylacrylate or trimethoxysilylpropylmethacrylate, being in the form of nanobeads, the diameter of which is between 10 and 100 nm. Also described is a method of obtaining such a composition, and use of such a rubber composition for the manufacture of rubber articles, in particular tires or rubber semi-finished products intended for these tires, as well as a masterbatch including at least one diene elastomer and such a polymeric filler, and a method of obtaining such a masterbatch.
Abstract: Inflatable article equipped with a layer impermeable to the inflation gases, of improved hysteresis and impermeability. The layer comprises an elastomer composition comprising at least, as the sole elastomer or as the predominant elastomer by weight, a thermoplastic stirene elastomer (“TPS”) and a platy filler having a volume content greater than 5%. According to one preferred embodiment, the TPS elastomer is a copolymer with polystirene and polyisobutylene blocks such as SIBS (stirene/isobutylene/stirene) and the composition also comprises an extender oil for the elastomer, in particular a PIB (polyisobutylene) oil. The platy filler is especially chosen from graphites and phyllosilicates such as micas, clays or talcs. The inflatable article can be an inner tube or a pneumatic tire for a motor vehicle.
