Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for producing microparticles, which can produce monodispersed microparticles, causes no clogging with a product due to self-dischargeability, requires no great pressure, and is excellent in productivity, wherein a fluid in which at least one kind of microparticle materials is dissolved is introduced between two processing surfaces arranged to be opposite to each other to be able to approach to and separate from each other, at least one of which rotates relative to the other, to be formed into a thin film fluid, and the thin film fluid is cooled or heated (warmed) to allow saturation solubility to change, thereby separating microparticles.
Abstract: A method for estimating the performance, during a braking situation, of a tire to be provided to a vehicle, this method comprising an experimental phase (EXPERIM) including a step (EVAL_MU) of assessing the grip coefficient (?) of the tire on the ground. This assessment step is performed for different values (Vi) of the relative displacement speed of the tire axis with regard to the ground and for different values (gi%) of the tire slip rate on the ground. The experimental phase (EXPERIM) further comprises a modelization step (MODEL) of representing the grip coefficient of this tire, as resulting from the assessment step (EVAL_MU), by a function (MU3D) of the relative displacement speed of the tire axis with regard to the ground and of the slip rate of this tire on the ground.

Abstract: A halogenated elastomer partially functionalized with triethylamine, in a mixture with fiiier and a cure package, suitable for use as an air barrier in an innertube or tire innerliner, is disclosed. The halogenated elastomer can be a polymer comprising C4 to C7 isoolefm derived units, para-alkylstyrene derived units, para-(haloalkylstyrene) derived units, and para-(triethylammoniumalkylstyrene) derived units. The Mooney viscosity of the elastomer can be controlled by the degree of triethylamine functionalization. Abstract: A plasticising system used for plasticizing a diene rubber composition is based on an MES or TDAE oil and on C5 fraction/vinylaromatic copolymer resin, in particular a copolymer of a C5 fraction and of styrene resin. A rubber composition exhibiting an improved abrasion and cut resistance is based on at least a diene elastomer, a reinforcing filler, a crosslinking system, and a plasticising system comprising between 5 and 35 phr of an MES or TDAE oil and between 5 and 35 phr of such a resin. A tire is formed of the above mentioned rubber composition. A process for preparing such a composition, use of said composition for the manufacture of a finished article or of a semi-finished product intended for a motor vehicle ground-contact system, in particular a tire and a tread of such a tire.

Abstract: Plasticizing system which can be used in particular for plasticizing a diene elastomer composition for tyres, the said plasticizing system comprising, in combination: a plasticizing hydrocarbon resin, the glass transition temperature of which is greater than 0° C.; and a phthalate diester corresponding to the formula (I): in which the R radicals, which are identical or different, represent a hydrocarbon radical. The invention also relates to a rubber composition incorporating the said plasticizing system and also to the use of such a composition in the manufacture of a tyre or of a semi-finished rubber product for tyres, in particular of a tyre tread; such a tread exhibits an improved wet grip without penalizing its wear resistance.

Abstract: A patch configured to fix an electronic system, which includes a sensor, to a tire. The patch has a foot with a surface configured to be fixed to the tire. The foot has at least two portions connected to one another by at least one bridging element. Abstract: A tread band having a primary groove opening onto a front face of the tread band, a secondary feature molded into the tread band, and a wear indicator molded into a section of an undertread portion of the tread band. The wear indicator is useful for providing an end-of-useable tread indication when the front face of the tread band wears even with a top portion of the wear indicator. Furthermore, the secondary feature may be characterized as opening onto a back face of the tread band, a side face of the tread band or combinations thereof. The section of the undertread portion may extend less than about 4 mm or less than about 3 mm from the back face of the tread band. In other embodiments, the section of the undertread portion may extend less than about 1.5 mm from the back face of the tread band.
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and methodology for identifying tire locations associated with a vehicle (10). Sensed variations in tire related parameters are measured as a vehicle traverses a known or ascertainable travel path (FIG. 3). Data accumulated over one or more measurement windows may be analyzed to determine the location of each individual tire (20) associated with a vehicle (10). Measurements and accumulation of data may be initiated upon detection of a stationary vehicle state exceeding a predetermined time, a predetermined lateral acceleration, and/or a predetermined vehicle speed.
