The conformal cooling assembly comprises a conformal cooling module comprising inlet and outlet passageways and a plenum configured to permit a cooling fluid to pass therethrough, thereby facilitating direct fluid contact with heat-generating components affixed to the substrate of the electronic assembly. The conformal cooling assembly also includes a fastener for attaching the conformal cooling module to the substrate; and a fluid-barrier disposed between the substrate and the plenum. The fluid-barrier is adapted to minimize, inhibit or prevent the cooling fluid from penetrating and being absorbed by the substrate.

    Abstract: A storage system comprises a non-volatile memory configured to store boot code and a control circuit connected to the non-volatile memory. In response to a first request from a host to transmit the boot code, the storage system commences transmission of the boot code to the host at a first transmission speed. Before successfully completing the transmission of the boot code to the host at the first transmission speed, it is determined the boot code transmission has failed. Therefore, the host will issue a second request for the boot code. In response to the second request for the boot code, and recognizing that this is a fallback condition because the previous transmission of the boot code failed, the storage apparatus re-transmits the boot code to the host at a lower transmission speed than the first transmission speed.

    Abstract: An insulated gate turn-off (IGTO) device, formed as a die, has a layered structure including a p+ layer (e.g., a substrate), an n? epi layer, a p-well, trenched insulated gate regions formed in the p-well, and n+ regions between the gate regions, so that vertical NPN and PNP transistors are formed. The device may be formed of a matrix of cells or may be interdigitated. To turn the device on, a positive voltage is applied to the gate, referenced to the cathode. The cells further contain a vertical p-channel MOSFET, for rapidly turning the device off. The p-channel MOSFET may be made a depletion mode device by implanting boron ions at an angle into the trenches to create a p-channel. This allows the IGTO device to be turned off with a zero gate voltage while in a latch-up condition, when the device is acting like a thyristor.

    Abstract: A compact angular actuator allows for angular displacement between a first section and a second section. The first section comprises a cam that is circular in cross section and has a wedge-shaped face. The second section comprises two or more constraint components that are in contact with the face of the cam. A hinge joins the first section and the second section in proximity with one another. As the cam is rotated about an axis that is perpendicular to and extends through a center of the circular cross section, the position on the face that the constraint components are in contact with changes. As a result, a force is imparted between the first section and the second section, changing the angular displacement between the two. The actuator fits within a compact volume and allows for precise controlled angular displacement, while allowing that displacement to be maintained without power consumption.

The controller may also determine the physical location based on a hot count associated with the previous control entry. After the physical location is determined, the controller may associate a new logical address with the physical location of the data to recover the deleted file.
