Abstract: A magnetic head includes a coil, a main pole and a return path section. The return path section includes a yoke section, and a coupling section coupling the yoke section to the main pole. The coil includes a first coil portion surrounding at least part of an outer peripheral surface of the coupling section, and a second coil portion surrounding at least part of the entire perimeter of the main pole as viewed from the medium facing surface. The winding of the coil includes a common portion used in common to form part of the first coil portion and part of the second coil portion.

Abstract: A sealed optical street luminaire having a luminaire housing fitted with a clear, flat lens and provided with an LED light source assembly mounted in the housing. The light source assembly has a heat dissipating LED support member secured to a heat conductive adapter for securement in the luminaire housing. A reflector is secured in the luminaire housing behind the lens which is sealingly positioned about the reflector. The LED support member supports LED modules at a predetermined angle and orientation relative to an inner reflective surface of the circumferential wall of the reflector. The heat dissipating LED support member and the heat conductive adapter dissipate heat through the luminaire housing.

Abstract: Sensing techniques and associated circuitry are provided for use with a memory device. The techniques are suited for sensing operations involving even-numbered or odd-numbered bit lines. In one approach, the sensing circuitry includes left and right hand portions which have separate cache access lines, but are connected to a common output bus. A full data word can be output at a time by using a half word from the left hand portion and a half word from the right hand portion. Or, the sensing circuitry can be configured so that a full data word is output at a time from the left or right hand portion. One implementation provides an N-bit bus and N input paths for each of the left and right hand portions. Another implementation provides an N-bit bus and N/2 input paths for each of the left and right hand portions.
Abstract: An actuator assembly for use with a shut-off valve in a transport or storage system. The assembly is configured to be operatively coupled to a stem of the valve for controlling fluid flow therethrough. Abstract: Circuitry may be used to detect and prevent short circuits in removable or connectable media, such as memory cards. The media may be any device or component with connections to another device, such as a host device that receives a memory card. The host device may connect with the media through connectors (which may include a plurality of pads) that facilitate a connection. If the connection between the host device and the media is improper or misaligned because the respective connectors/pads do not connect properly, then there may be a short circuit. A short circuit detector can both detect and prevent this short circuit.

The switch control circuits are configured to activate the circuit blocks in a first predetermined order and deactivate the circuit blocks in a second predetermined order.

Abstract: A unified proximity sensor including multiple physically separated radio antenna structure for mobile electronic devices that senses proximity of a person to the antennae. Changes in capacitances of the antennae are detected based on a low frequency signal output by a single capacitance sensor. As a human body approaches any of the antennae, this capacitance increases. Based on the increase in capacitance, the transmission powers of radio signals emitted by the antennae are reduced.
