Patent number: 9483263Abstract: A microprocessor includes a plurality of processing cores each comprises a corresponding memory physically located inside the core and readable by the core but not readable by the other cores (“core memory”). The microprocessor also includes a memory physically located outside all of the cores and readable by all of the cores (“uncore memory”). For each core, the uncore memory and corresponding core memory collectively provide M words of storage for microcode instructions fetchable by the core as follows: the uncore memory provides J of the M words of microcode instruction storage, and the corresponding core memory provides K of the M words of microcode instruction storage. J, K and M are counting numbers, and M=J+K. The memories are non-architecturally-visible and accessed using a fetch address provided by a non-architectural program counter, and the microcode instructions are non-architectural instructions that implement architectural instructions.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 2013Date of Patent: November 1, 2016Assignee: VIA TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: G. Patent number: 9485254Abstract: Methods for authenticating a security device at a local network location for providing a secure access from the local network location to a remote network location are provided. A security device is registered by installing private security software on the security device that generates an asymmetrical encryption key pair including an encryption key and a decryption key. The encryption key is stored only on the security device and the decryption key is stored only on a remote server. Embodiments of the present invention provide increased security by not storing the encryption key on the remote server so that attackers stealing data from the server cannot pretend to a user having the registered security device. A corresponding system for authenticating a security device is also provided.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2015Date of Patent: November 1, 2016Assignee: INBAY TECHNOLOGIES INC.Inventors: Randy Kuang, Stanislus Kisito Xavier, David Michael Mann, Robert Frank Steklasa, Stephen George Wilson, He Zhu, Nicolas Johannes Sebastian Bettenburg

Publication number: 20160313940Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for applying different voltages to an I/O interface (such as to the pads of the I/O interface) and determining the data integrity of communicating data (either transmitting to or receiving data from) to another device is disclosed. Data integrity may be measured in one of several ways, such as the window (or timing) at which data can be transmitted correctly using the different voltages. The determined data integrity may be compared with a minimum data integrity, such as a minimum window. In the event that the determined data integrity is greater or better than the minimum data integrity, then the voltage may be reduced and the data integrity determination may be performed again. In this way, the voltage applied to the I/O interface may be reduced while still meeting the minimum data integrity requirements.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 21, 2015Publication date: October 27, 2016Applicant: SANDISK TECHNOLOGIES INC.Inventor: Vikram Somaiya

Publication number: 20160313413Abstract: In one embodiment, a TMR field sensor utilizes existing one or more self-test current lines in a configuration to extend magnetic field measurement range without sacrificing measurement sensitivity. The self-test current lines are energized to facilitate magnetic field measurement when the measured magnetic field reaches a threshold. The magnetic field created by self-test coil opposes an external magnetic field being measured to keep the net magnetic field within a desired range where the magnetic field sensor has linear output and desired sensitivity.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 14, 2016Publication date: October 27, 2016Applicant: EVERSPIN TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Anuraag MOHAN, Phillip G. Patent number: 9474205Abstract: In a rotating grass trimmer, a top loading line blade and corresponding head securely hold the cutting lines with multiple orientations of the line blade. An alternative embodiment provides a simplified loading scheme where a cutting line is loaded into the trimmer head from its outside, through a line outlet to a fixed receiver without the need for a moving or mechanical line gripping or biting type mechanism. With this construction, a worn line can be replaced by pulling it back out or by reversing it back through the same outlet from which it was initially inserted. The design eliminates practically all of the costs associated with the current state of the art rapid loading mechanisms as there is no physical compression, gripping or biting into the line by any mechanical or moving mechanism. Additionally, the line is insertable in multiple orientations.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2009Date of Patent: October 25, 2016Assignee: AERO-FLEX TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventor: Vincent D. Morabit
