Publication number: 20160263526Abstract: Synergized PGM catalyst converters configured as three-way catalyst (TWC) systems are disclosed. The disclosed SPGM system configurations exhibit high thermal stability, attenuated air to fuel (A/F) perturbations, enhanced TWC activity, and high catalytic conversion efficiency as a result of synergizing a low PGM loading close-coupled catalyst (CCC), with Ce-based oxygen storage, with a front spinel zone of suitable mixed metal oxide compositions acting as pre-catalyst for oxygen storage. The attenuation of A/F perturbations to lower amplitude, before exhaust gas emissions go into the standard PGM CCC, allows the system to work within a range of R values very close to the stoichiometric point for both lean and rich conditions, and high catalytic conversion efficiency in NOX, CO, and HC conversions. The disclosed SPGM system configurations can be utilized in a plurality of TWC applications, such as conventional TWC systems including an optional underfloor catalyst.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 13, 2015Publication date: September 15, 2016Applicant: CLEAN DIESEL TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventor: Stephen J. Publication number: 20160266012Abstract: An energy-efficient industrial sensor is provided that optimizes power consumption based on characteristics of the requirements of the sensing application in which the sensor is used. Operating parameters of the sensor, such as sensing range, operating frequency, response time, noise immunity, or other such parameters, can be scaled to suit the sensing and response requirements and environmental conditions of the sensing application. This allows the sensor to consume less energy when used in sensing applications that do not require peak sensor performance. In some embodiments, the sensor can measure the environmental or machine operating conditions in its immediate vicinity and dynamically scale its operating parameters based on the measured information. By down-scaling the sensor's operating parameters from their maximum performance levels where appropriate, the overall energy footprint of a network of sensors can be reduced.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2015Publication date: September 15, 2016Applicant: ROCKWELL AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Frederic BOUTAUD, Suresh NAIR

Patent number: 9441227Abstract: The invention is directed to compositions and methods for selectively reducing the expression of a gene product from a desired target gene in a cell, as well as for treating diseases caused by the expression of the gene. More particularly, the invention is directed to compositions that contain double stranded RNA (“dsRNA”), and methods for preparing them, that are capable of reducing the expression of target genes in eukaryotic cells. The dsRNA has a first oligonucleotide sequence that is between 25 and about 30 nucleotides in length and a second oligonucleotide sequence that anneals to the first sequence under biological conditions. In addition, a region of one of the sequences of the dsRNA having a sequence length of at least 19 nucleotides is sufficiently complementary to a nucleotide sequence of the RNA produced from the target gene to trigger the destruction of the target RNA by the RNAi machinery.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 2014Date of Patent: September 13, 2016Assignees: CITY OF HOPE, INTEGRATED DNA TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: John J.
