  • Patent number: 9462655
Abstract: A surge protection device provides a dimming control signal to an LED driving system upon failure of surge protection components. Impedance networks are coupled between respective first, second and third input lines for an AC mains. The impedance networks include thermal fuses and metal oxide varistors, with a dimming control circuit having a resistive network coupled between each respective series circuit of fuses and MOV's. The resistive network generates a 0-10V analog dimming signal to an LED device controller, wherein a lighting device operates in full lighting mode while the surge protection device is in normal, high impedance mode, but operates in a dimming mode when one or more of the impedance network devices fail and cause the 0-10V signal to drop below 10 volts. Detection of a dimmed but operable lighting device may serve as warning to an operator that the associated surge protection device component should be replaced.

  • Patent number: 9459322
Abstract: A battery management system for a battery pack including a plurality of battery cells connected in series is provided. The battery management system includes a voltage divider, a plurality of switching units and a detection circuit. Each switching unit is corresponding to one of the battery cell and coupled between an anode of the corresponding battery cell and the voltage divider. When a control signal directs one of the switching units to turn on, the voltage divider divides a voltage difference transmitted from the one of the switching units to obtain a divided voltage signal, and transmits the divided voltage signal to the detection circuit, and the detection circuit detects the voltage difference according to the divided voltage signal, wherein the voltage difference is a voltage difference between an anode of the battery cell corresponding to the one of the switching units and a ground.

  • Patent number: 9461818
Abstract: A method for encrypting a program for subsequent execution by a microprocessor configured to decrypt and execute the encrypted program includes receiving an object file specifying an unencrypted program that includes conventional branch instructions whose target address may be determined pre-run time. The method also includes analyzing the program to obtain chunk information that divides the program into a sequence of chunks each comprising a sequence of instructions and that includes encryption key data associated with each of the chunks. The encryption key data associated with each of the chunks is distinct. The method also includes replacing each of the conventional branch instructions that specifies a target address that is within a different chunk than the chunk in which the conventional branch instruction resides with a branch and switch key instruction. The method also includes encrypting the program based on the chunk information.

  • Publication number: 20160284724
Abstract: Disclosed herein is 3D memory with vertical NAND strings having a III-V compound channel, as well as methods of fabrication. The III-V compound has at least one group III element and at least one group V element. The III-V compound provides for high electron mobility transistor cells. Note that III-V materials may have a much higher electron mobility compared to silicon. Thus, much higher cell current and overall cell performance can be achieved. Also, the memory device may have better read-write efficiency due to much higher carrier mobility and velocity. The tunnel dielectric of the memory cells may have an Al2O3 film in direct contact with the III-V NAND channel. The drain end of the NAND channel may be a metal-III-V alloy in direct contact with a metal region. The body of the source side select transistor could be formed from the III-V compound or from crystalline silicon.

  • Patent number: 9456000
Abstract: A data analysis system receives potentially undesirable electronic communications and automatically groups them in computationally-efficient data clusters, automatically analyze those data clusters, automatically tags and groups those data clusters, and provides results of the automated analysis and grouping in an optimized way to an analyst. The automated analysis of the data clusters may include an automated application of various criteria or rules so as to generate an ordered display of the groups of related data clusters such that the analyst may quickly and efficiently evaluate the groups of data clusters. In particular, the groups of data clusters may be dynamically re-grouped and/or filtered in an interactive user interface so as to enable an analyst to quickly navigate among information associated with various groups of data clusters and efficiently evaluate those data clusters.

  • Patent number: 9456056
Abstract: Methods and systems for processing data requests in a client-server computing environment, such as the Web, are disclosed. A client device initially transmits a data request to a randomly selected first server device. The first server device may reject the data request if its request queue threshold is exceeded. The client device retransmits the data request, including the request queue threshold, to a randomly selected second server device. The second server device may reject the data request if the request queue threshold of the first server device is smaller than a request queue threshold of the second server device. The client device transmits the data request back to the first server device, including the request queue threshold of the second server device. The first server device processes the data request and adjusts its request queue threshold based on the request queue thresholds of the first and second server devices.

  • Patent number: 9452968
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for the separation and purification of a diacid from a fermentation broth withdrawn directly from a fermentation zone for producing the diacid, wherein the fermentation broth comprises the diacid and water, a corresponding monoacid, and a corresponding ?-hydroxyacid. The process comprises passing the fermentation broth to a filtration zone having a filtration media and filtering the fermentation broth to provide a filtered feedstock. The filtered feedstock and a desorbent stream are passed to a simulated moving bed separation zone (SMB) operating in reverse phase at effective SMB conditions. The diacid may be adipic, acid, a 6-carbon atom diacid, or dodecanedioic acid, a 12-carbon atom diacid. The process is useful in simplifying the manufacturing the manufacture of diacids produced by fermentation. Adipic acid is used as monomer for the production of nylon.
