  • Publication number: 20160298996
Abstract: The invention relates to a system and method for measuring the flow stream height and velocity and other properties of water, drilling mud, or other liquid flowing through a pipe. The system comprises at least one and preferably a plurality of capacitive pads, connected to a data acquisition system capable of measuring the capacitance of each pad. These capacitive pads may be arranged radially around the inner diameter of a pipe or on a vertical probe inserted into the pipe. The pads that are submerged below the liquid level within the pipe will have a larger capacitance due to their proximity with a high dielectric fluid such as water or drilling mud. Conversely, the pads above the flow stream will have a lower capacitance due to their proximity to air. The fluid level can be inferred by determining the number of pads submerged in the fluid and by analysis of the capacitive values of pads nearest the fluid-air interface.

  • Patent number: 9464804
Abstract: The gas flare system includes a vertical flare stack having an opened top end and a bottom floor wall. A weatherproof protective hood arrangement prevents rain and snow from entering through the opened top end. The gas flare system also includes a burner arrangement provided through the bottom floor wall. The burner arrangement receives a waste gas stream from a waste gas circuit and also primary air. Secondary air orifices around the burner supply secondary air coming from a plenum housing located directly underneath the bottom floor wall. The gas flare system can destroy the flammable gas in the waste gas stream with a combustion efficiency of more than 99% under almost any operating conditions. It can start automatically and operate efficiently without any supervision under any possible atmospheric conditions. A method of destroying a flammable gas in a waste gas stream is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9467347
Abstract: The present invention relates to systems and methods that employ scalable vector graphics (SVG) to view and effectuate an industrial device from a remote Web interface. The systems and methods can be utilized to retrieve an SVG XML markup language-based file associated with the device and execute the SVG file via basic ASCII drawing commands. Thus, a faceplate of an industrial device and/or other device-related information can be represented via SVG syntax and stored with the device. A user can employ a Web browser from a remote location (e.g., via a Web client) to retrieve the SVG file, wherein the file can be loaded within the Web browser and/or an open source software package. The SVG file can be executed to render an interactive graphical faceplate that can depict LEDs, alphanumeric displays, inputs/output, etc., trending mechanisms (e.g., graphs, charts, etc.), and capabilities to load parameters.
